No, it doesn't work that way. The Visa and the COPR is valid for one year after the medicals OR the expiration of your passport; whichever comes first. In this case, my son's passport expires in 2 months which means his COPR will expire in two months if we decide to go with his existing passport. We are not planning to land until late Summer/Early fall (Aug/September) hence the need to get a new passport with longer validity.Aquib said:Thanks again.
Just one more question/suggestion .
Why you want to wait for renew your daughter PP,
I mean you can get PR visa and later renew your baby passport . Its not make any diffrance that visa is in your old ir new pp
Dear Applicant,
Your application has reached the final stage of processing. So that your permanent resident visa(s) can be
issued, you must now submit the documents listed below. (These instructions do not apply to accompanying
family members who are entitled to Canadian citizenship, because they will have to travel on their Canadian
passports.)
1. Your passport and a passport for each accompanying family member. The passports must meet the
Passport Specifications on page 2 of this letter.
2. Two recent photographs of yourself and two recent photographs of each of your accompanying family
members. The photos must meet the Photo Specifications on page 2 of this letter.
3. The “Updated Information Chart” on page 3, fully completed for you and each accompanying family
member.
Submit your passport(s), photos and information chart within 30 days of the date of this letter (or the date of the
email if you received this by email). All documents for you and your accompanying family members must be
submitted together in one package. Follow the instructions on page 4 of this letter to submit your package.
Passport Specifications
If any of the passports submitted do not meet the following specifications, all passports will be returned to you
without visas. This delay will shorten the amount of time that you will have to travel to Canada to become a
permanent resident.
1. All names and dates of birth must be printed in each passport in English or French.
2. The given name (first name) of the passport-holder must be clearly printed on the Given Name line of the
biodata page of each passport. The surname (last name) of the passport-holder must be clearly printed on
the Surname line of the biodata page of each passport. They should match your Updated Information
Chart.
3. Your spouse must have their own passport. Your accompanying children should also each have their own
passports.
4. Each passport must have at least two empty pages.
5. For your visas to have maximum validity, all passports should be valid for at least 12 months from the date
of your medical examinations.
6. All passports must be intact and not worn, torn or otherwise damaged; the laminate on the biodata page
must be securely attached. Each page must be securely affixed to the passport; there cannot be any loose
pages. Ordinary passports are the only type of passport into which a permanent resident visa may be
inserted. Diplomatic, official, special or other similar types of passports are NOT acceptable.
another thanks , my child Pp got 9 month left. So do you recommend me to remew it beforehand .9jcanada said:@ Aquib:
here's some extract from the PPR:
Unless you are 100% certain of landing before the expiration of his current passport, I'll advice you renew it ASAP.Aquib said:another thanks , my child Pp got 9 month left. So do you recommend me to remew it beforehand .

Well our PPR arrived exactly 6 weeks after our medicals, so hopefully you should get some good news soon. We are waiting for the renewal of my son's passport. It should arrive in a few days. We will submit our passports after that. We can't afford to relax. Bot myself and my wife have our professional exams coming up in the Autumn, so it's back to studying plus, we need to start thinking about the relocation process so many things to sort out. Yes, it is great to have the PR processing out of the way. It is the foundation on which we are going to lay everything else.auditor said:no, nothing yet..my medical reached CHC london 19th March and rest of docs on 21st March.

I received PPR1 today! I'm going to send the photocopies and the form tomorrow in the morning (surprisingly they did not ask for updated photographs in my case).
Please update the list of documents.
