here is the reply I rcvd recently from London visa Office
''Thank you for your enquiry.
Your file is currently awaiting review by an immigration officer. We should be able to provide you with further information once this review is complete.
Please note that your medical results have been assessed and are valid until xxxxxx.
Yours sincerely,''

Since 4.5 months I had my Background checks going on and now review? what is happening on earth - Pls explain what does that mean and what about my background checks as VO told me in his last email that back ground checks going on???? ???
I have seen on the forum if VO replies that your file is awaiting review by IO then it means that BC are over & very soon they will gonna issue PPR. Positive thing is that your Medical result has been already assessed.
BTW: did you send CSE or used direct email address & in how many days you got this reply.

Dear Friends,
Wishing every one in the forum a very good day!
Please help me with some questions if possible:-
1. After receiving the Visa by the LVO, is there any more process needed or can one immediately leave for Canada in a week or two of receiving the visa?
2. How much time will it take to safely complete all the formalities of landing once in Canada (if someone needs to leave Canada for a brief period for some important issues)?
3. What about the citizenship rules - They say that you require at least 3 years of continuous PR status in Canada, should this 3 years be in the First 3 years of the stipulated 5 years validity of the Permanent Resident status or any time in between, for example, you stay out of Canada for the first 2 years of your PR and then you stay for 3 years in Canada continuously - will you then be granted Citizenship or will you have to renew your PR for next five years and then try citizenship in the next 5 years of PR?
4. Since the passports of 3 of our family members were renewed recently, I sent the old and the new passports stapled together to the LVO for visa stamping following the PPR, does it require any more documentation?

Thanks everyone for the help.
Best of luck to all.

Regards.

1. You have your visa you can enter whenever you like until 1 year after your medical when your visa expires

2. This varies from 15min to an hour, this could be longer if there are any issues with entry. Once you arrive you will fill in a permanet residence card PRC which will be sent to you in Canada within 6 weeks. With this card you can leave and enter Canada as and when you please. If you leave before you get this card you need someone to courier this to you so you can enter Canada again. I think you can get around the PRC issue if you explain to an immigration official when you try to re enter but I don't think re-entry is guaranteed.

3. The 3 years does not need to be continuous you just need to have been in the country for 3 years in the 5 year period.

4. You should have advised the LVO about the renewal of passports. I have no idea what the reaction will be from the LVO

Hmm, then how much time required by an Immigration Officer to conduct a review, and how long to get PPR. Whats the role of JMR then if someone else going to review? ??? I had sent CSE and got reply within a week. Have you sent any CSE, what did they say as we both got same timelines?

Hi drjafs,
U can leave imdtly. However, to maintain ur PR status u need to reside there [cumulatively] for 730 days (2Yrs) out of the last 5 yrs. U don't need to do it in one-go, neither u need to stay for the 730-days from day-1 of landing.
U can stay outside canada 1095-days (3Yrs) in the last 5-yrs.
Regards,
Saad
