Something weird just happened, i just sent RFPRF receipt along with medical confirmation report to my VO and i got following response within half an hour:

"Please note that your application is also undergoing mandatory background checks. We are unable to advise when these checks will completed, however, please rest assured that we will contact you with further instructions as soon as the results for the background checks and favourable medical results have been received."

How come BG checks started AFTER getting the medical request?? Is this normal? Any one else ever received such message after the medicals?

P.S: I received medical request last week and completed in the same week.

Hi maverick

Background Check is mandatory for all, I had same case my medical was completed on 4th May and TLU on 19th May and got PPR2 on 26th June. During that period i made inquiry and Got same respond that Background Checks are in process.

So no need to worry, Hope for best. :)

Regards

Hello Maverick,

Can you share your program assistant's initials?
Is ur VO London? or different?

But the difference is that usually the word used by VO in email for BG after 2nd line is "Your file is undergoing ROUTINE/NORMAL background checks".. This one is different as it states "MANDATORY". My guess is that it might be Security checks, as only this type of BG checks is mandatory for all. Other checks are not mandatory and can be skipped.

Take it easy buddy, mandatory , routine or normal , all these words means that the step is a must, they don't have a template they are humans and they can use different wording

A question to applicants who almost reached the finish line .
Regarding PCC, i have read on CIC website that the PCC is valid for 6 months after the date of submission , and you don't need to provide a PCC from countries that you used to live in , if you provided one after the date you have last lived in this country . (and i was told it's valid for one year from the date of submission)

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

my question to you , i have seen reports of requests for PCC, but have anyone who sent his PCC is asked again to submit a new one, and can i submit it through email ??

Mates...I am September applicant. MR has not been issued so far. Sent an email 2 months ago to LVO, they said it is waiting to be reviewed by an officer. Since then, have not heard from them. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I saw one guy was asked to submit new PCC as earlier ones were deemed to be expired, this is exception and generally they are not asking......PCC can not be submitted through email ( this is my personal experience). If you had already submitted PCC with your application then wait for VO response, if not submitted with application then send it through DHL with all your details.
