On my medical appointment, it is instructed to bring polio vaccination certificate. My question is, from where I can get this certificate in Karachi? Also, please tell me is it necessary to bring this with me or I can go without it?

When we passed through medicals at IOM Karachi earlier this year, that time there was no such travel restriction so we were not asked to present polio vac card...but now if they've instructed you to bring, you must carry it with you (for yourself and for all of your family appearing for medical).
To the best of my information, Govt approved vaccination center is in the vicinity of Jinnah Hospital......(I believe you are in Karachi)....it is approx a quarter miles away from JPMC on the same road. Alternatively you can have polio vaccination from KHI airport dispensary.

Thank you all for your comments!

(XRAY) prescribed to any a pregnant patient can present a significant health hazard to the developing fetus!
It's highly controversial and often a matter of cost & benefit analysis.

From a mere medical point of view, YES Xray radiation should be avoided and it's up to the treating physician to determine the urgency & emergency of the case. There are a whole lot list of precautions (the trimester, the dose: ALARA, "As Low As Reasonably Achievable, Shielding: lead aprons, etc) if they opt for the prescribing the radiation.

I had no intentions of discussing this dilemma :o
I only wanted to refer to the part which necessitates that the applicant SHOULD undergo the Chest Xray and there is no way that they may DEFER the procedure! "the CIC regulations not the medical recommendations" ;)

I know it must be an uneasy decision!! GOOD LUCK !!

ATB :)

No dear nothing. Planning to re-order GCMS on 10th.

I don't know whats wrong with LVO these days, since last couple of weeks, there have been no major updates/news from them...Are they still on eid holidays ? ;)

FSW 2014 is on run, and LVO have still not finalized FSW 2013 applications...... There is some serious pause/stop from LVO... sign of storm ? ;) { could be MR or interviews? }

Don't know exactly, what are they upto.... GCMS notes will further take 1-2 month, by then we will cross October 2014 ( 1 yr from PER date)
