(XRAY) prescribed to any a pregnant patient can present a significant health hazard to the developing fetus!
It's highly controversial and often a matter of cost & benefit analysis.
From a mere medical point of view, YES Xray radiation should be avoided and it's up to the treating physician to determine the urgency & emergency of the case. There are a whole lot list of precautions (the trimester, the dose: ALARA, "As Low As Reasonably Achievable, Shielding: lead aprons, etc) if they opt for the prescribing the radiation.
I had no intentions of discussing this dilemma
I only wanted to refer to the part which necessitates that the applicant SHOULD undergo the Chest Xray and there is no way that they may DEFER the procedure!
