First of all, welcome to the forum .

I started this topic in parallel and if someone considers it inapprorpiate to start here, then accept my apology. I believe, it will help many of the expats on this forum somehow.

I am anticipating followings:

Flying from Home Country

1. Expats can send their families back to home country before packing-up completely which will ease the pressure during the last days in resident country.
2. Families can spend reasonable time with their relatives and friends back in their home country.
3. Departure can be planned without any pressure of leaving the country due to legal requirement.


Flying from UAE/GCC

1. Flexibility in choosing several airlines can be attained.
2. There will be no issue to carry cash and gold. This is biggest fear I am coming across if I chose to fly from home country.
3. No search of well packed lugguage which will most probably happen in home country.

Any other thought if anyone would like to share?

I think..it would be more safe to travel from UAE keeping the current & persisting security turmoil in Pakistan especially in Kar...

Welcome on board, we have one of the most supportive and united community here in this forum.
One route of the journey is completed, although the journey is still continuing and I personally would love to make it all together.

Senior members, I am hopeful that I am going to hear good news from LVO soon, in the form of PPR2.

Can you suggest generally how long it takes to get PPR 2 after ecas is updated to decision made?

if i say from a lady perspective, packing/shopping for pakistan trip+canada landing is tough ;D i like to have the option tht if gul plaza is not helping me, i can come back to grab another set of prestige utensils from uae...(n here ive advertised for them for free ;D )
plus i havent heard good abt PIA .. ??? im not sure if its the only option from khi...ive also seen ppl having 4-7 hours transit at dubai/abu dhabi...
but definitely v all need to go to pakistan or our home countries to spend some good time with family before v leave for canada to start settlement struggle...

Well, you are right. BTW, I have decided to fly from UAE for landing. I don't want to carry luggage to Pakistan which is supposed to go to Canada only :'(. My wife has already made few purchases of items for Canada and bit more to go. We are planning to visit Pakistan for couple of weeks max. before cancelling our UAE visas, then will come back to UAE, will cancel our visas and close all accounts and will fly to Canada. This will give us peace of mind that we can carry anything with us including cash, gold etc. without any problem

I am really thinking to fly in Air Bus with Emirates, direct non-stop flight from Dubai to Toronto. Let's see how things work out for us.

I am flying via Emirates as well. From Lahore ~ DXB ~ YYZ (A380). Will share experience if it's worth paying hefty amount
