Hi a_manan,
If you check the group for those who did meds in June, you will see that only two people got PPR, which is not a very large percentage. Even some people who did meds in January (see relevant thread) have not got passport request yet. The background checks are largely unpredictable in length. Not only they depend on the official processing times, but also on the efficiency of external agencies from which the visa officer requests confirmation.

a_manan said:Dear all,
I did my medical in June 2012 and submitted them the medical along with a copy of passport and my police character certificate on 11th of July 2012. As of now I haven't heard any news. When I did contacted them that gave me a reply saying:
"Dear Mr. Chaudhry,
Your file is awaiting the initiation of background checks. We will be in contact once these have been completed and your file has been reviewed by an immigration officer. This will likely be in a few months time"
I honestly have no idea what they mean by this and I believed that it will only take a few weeks after medical and now its been like over two months. Any news how long will it take??also they have changed the processing time from 27 months to 44 months now and I dunt know if these changes will affect us or not. God knows what they are planning on doing now. I hope I dunt have to wait till I am 60 and get my immigration lol
