Hi all

I received my notes last week and i noticed one blank page with s.16(1)(c) written in the upper right corner
i tried to understand what does it mean and if its something good or not but i couldn't get any answer
Can any one please tell me what does s.16(1)(c) mean ?

it means they have started your security checks (background checks). no need to worry. its gud that they are working on ur app.

What is ur Background check status ?

Can anyone elaborate on what Security Checks are all about? What all is being verified/processed at this point?

Batool, Did you contact CIC? sent any CSE or email to london?
I know 5 paper based applicants from Pakistan, they got ppr from London in 5 months 18 days.

No I did not Contact CIC by any means yet.
I am not sure whether I consider my Medical Done date or medical declared date as a waiting period.
If i consider medical done i.e on 14th Nov 2016 its almost 5 months now and if I consider medical passed i.e 17th Feb 2017 then it is going to be 2 months on 17th April.
My Background check is In process since I got AOR i.e 3rd Oct 2016.

Everybody who have crossed 4 months!!!!!!!!!!!

In my opinion, we should send lvo a polite email asking for our status. I guess we are 15,20 ppl who have crossed 4 months. So if all of us (separately) will ask them our app status, they might wake up and start some processing.
There is no harm in politely asking for your app status.

If there is no harm in it I am ready to write a polite email to LVO to wake them up. :)

I have sent LVO an email just now. I asked them my status and I humbly requested them to start processing my file. And Have told them that my file has been waiting for processing from 16 December 2016 (the day it was transferred to LVO).

Suggest we all (applicants waiting from more than 4 months) should do so.

Hi hb_rashidy

In fact I've emailed them on 3rd of April asking for my application status since I didn't hear anything since I passed the medical on 18 Nov. I got a reply just in the following day that my file is with the officer for final review which I am not sure what does it mean.

We are all waiting for any positive progress

I sent an email to them today as well asking about my application. It has been 130 days and BG Status is still Not Applicable. Hopefully they respond with useful information instead of the generic "Awaiting review by an officer".

Guys post the response you get from them on this forum. Thanks!

this is the reply they send to everyone who crosses 2 to 3 months.
Try sending an email to them in this week.

Hi, I need help in understanding the status of my application.

I got AOR on Dec 01, 2016 and got my medicals passed on Dec 02, 2016. Since then there has been no update in my profile.

I emailed the LVO which is in London and got a reply on 15th March 2017 that:

"your application is undergoing necessary background checks. Please be advised that there are various checks that a file may need to undergo during the application process. We will contact you once the checks are complete."

After that there has been no status change and when we emailed them again and got this reply:

"We are writing with regards to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

The file still awaits further review. We will be in touch in due course. Your patience is highly appreciated."

Does this mean that BG has been completed and the application is in final review stage?

I tried emailing London Visa Office via LDNIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca and it keeps bouncing back. Does anyone have another email address i can reach them on ?

Hi! This is my sister's timeline
PNP category submitted application January 5, 2016
CIC Received application: August 2016
Received AOR: Nov. 30, 2016
Started Processing: Dec. 1, 2016
December 22, 2016: LVO sent an email to her regarding all udpated application form, like IMM O08, background declaration, travel information, proof of funds, updated police clearance, RPRF, medical and a letter that she need to explain why she apply for permanent residence how she become economically stable?! Ashe passed her Medical exam last January 2017 and submited all required documents early January 2016, but up to now her background check is not applicable. Do you have any idea why they asked all that forms and there's possible for PPr for her? Its hard to wait
