My file is complete but I still have curiosities. I read on here that if it said registry that it is not being worked on

What does it mean when in one set of notes, location had the name of Visa Officer (with ID#) and then 2 months later, the location was blank (looked like it was literally whited out as the top of the word in the next line was whited out also). There was a number on the right hand side of the page (I believe it was s.17, a security code). Could it be that they are doing the security check?

If it says “location : registry” does it mean your app is not being worked on?
I checked my paper file history section in my GCMS notes and here is what I noticed:

Changes in Location and Status:

0) Location: FCP Pending Review; Status: Open (when we received sponsor approval (AOR1))
1) Location: In transit; Status: blank (when file was being transferred)
2) Location: Registry; Status: blank (when file reached VO)
3) Location: Registry; Status: Open (when eCAS had line added saying: We started processing your application on ....)
4) Location: Name of Visa Officer with ID #; Status: Open (when AOR2 email was received on this date)
5) Location: RCMP Fingerprints Pending - PR; Status: Open (on the day I emailed our RCMP fingerprint report to the VO)
6) Location: Name of Visa Officer with ID #; Status: Open ( 4 days after I emailed our RCMP fingerprint report to the VO)
7) Location: blank (whited out) ; Status: Open (top part of the word "Open" also was whited out) (3 weeks after #6 happened)

That is from the last set of notes I ordered which was at the beginning of November (9.5 months after Mississauga received our application).

It looks like when the Status says "Open", the file is activated. As to whether they are looking at it all the time, that is another matter as our file has always remained open since AOR2 stage, but I doubt that they were actively working on it as we are still being processed and it has been almost 11.5 months since we submitted our application.

Where do you find the status?

If you check the HISTORY section, towards the end you will find Paper File notes. The line right under Location is Status. Our notes were about 49 pages long and Paper File notes were on page 37 - 38.
