My husband's NOC is IT related. Possitive LMO issued mid May (after RBC scandal).

Can you pls share the dates (application and LMI issue date). Also which place did you apply for?

Here is my situation and timeline: My husband has been here on a work permit since May 2010 and he is from the USA.

LMO Sent - March 3, 2013
LMO Sent AGAIN - May 27, May 30 & June 3 (apparently Service Canada did not receive the original LMO application and are doing nothing to expedite the process)
Work Permit Extension application sent: June 18, 2013, tracking number says it arrived June 20, 2013
Work Permit Expired: June 23, 2013 (currently working on implied status)

His employer has been calling regarding the status and Service Canada has been less than helpful. They called last week and Service Canada said the employer has been filling out the application wrong the last 3 years (even though they issued positive LMOs) and they are sending something in the mail for more information. Currently the employer has not received whatever they are asking for and the agent would not say what it was on the phone.

We are waiting for his permanent residence to come in (applied outland, so no open wp option), but now I am worried Service Canada will issue a negative LMO and he will have to go home. I am 6 months pregnant, we just bought a house and he needs to work - so staying here as a visitor isn't really an option.

Does anyone have any ideas on what we can do?

My employer received a mail from Service Canada to fill up a questionnaire having questions asking if there is any outsourcing activity, since it is an IT application. They want to return this questionnaire in 5 business days through FAX.

Any idea, how long will it take after this? We are already in the 15th week. Last week, the lawyer enquired about the status and Service Canada said it will be processed within 35 business days. They didn't mention exact days. Does this mail mean that my file is under process now?

Has anyone been through the same issue? Any replies will be helpful.

Thanks in advance....

My situation is worse than you. It has been 17th weeks now. Service Canada says, they are experiencing extremely slowness. Now, I am kind of frustrated with Service Canada. My job is a very good job & it is in Toronto.

Did you get the same questionnaire from Service Canada? Which NOC are you applying for?

Seems my husband's employer didn't do any advertising for the job, just asked the union for workers and that's not good enough. Service Canada has sent something in the mail regarding the advertising but the employer won't be able to prove they met the minimum requirements. Expecting a negative lmo. :(

I do not really know, It is through a job agency. Almost 5 weeks ago, they received something(questions) from service canada, regarding LMO. But, the main office did not tell me the details.

So my husband's LMO is likely to be negative. We applied for the extension just before the work permit expired. Question is can he keep working until we get an answer for the extension application or does he have to stop when the negative LMO comes in?

Anyone know this answer?

Hey ... any update with your application?

Guys.... any updates with LMO? Did anyone get it in recent days? Please share the timelines.

Service Canada claims they sent out a request in the mail with further instructions on advertising - this was 3 weeks ago and the employer has not received anything. Husband's work permit expired on June 23, 2013 - we applied for renewal before expiry, so he is still on implied status with no healthcare and cannot leave the country. This process has been absolutely terrible and Service Canada could not care less.

You don't follow the process properly and then blame the Government agencies.
