LMO Processing Time Ontario

I got the same sentiment. My prospected employer applied LMO on Dec 2011 and no news from HRDC. My last communication with prospected employer last april 2012 that they decided to go with other candidate as they can't afford to wait that long of uncertain processing time. Pity on me, it's a great opportunity but was unable to get it due to LMO. :(

Anyone have any idea what is going on with Service Canada?

My timeline:
End Feb - LMO sent
March 4th - Received file number
June 24th - LMO still not assigned to an officer for review, tomorrow will be 16 weeks.

Originally we were told the process takes 4 weeks, then 8, then 12, now 16 but still no progress.

My employer has wrote to them to try and expedite the process, but as this is their first one it didn't happen.

I am quickly running out of funds (not worked now for over 12 weeks)

I read some of the timeline above and some were submitted after me and some before, there doesn't seem to be a clear process? Any ideas what is going on?

I'm sorry to have to ask the following stupid questions, but some answers would be greatly appreciated!

I send off an LMO application last week for a highly skilled freelancer we've worked with the past year or so to come work with us in Ontario for 6 months (starting from Sept), for a period where its very important for him to work closely with us.

My questions are:
1. Can we not apply for the work permit and temporary resident visa until the LMO is approved, or we can once we have the file number?
2. Can he not come into Canada until his LMO is approved, even with an approved valid work permit and TR visa?

Thanks!

As of July 1, 2012, CIC has temporarily stopped accepting applications for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP). This temporary pause does not apply to those with a qualifying job offer or applying under the PhD stream. We will likely start accepting applications again when the revised FSWP selection criteria take effect. Proposed FSWP changes should come into force in early 2013.

Everybody on this forum know about this change..! Jsut to clarify those who are applying with LMO/AEO are good to go, this change doesn't have any impact on their application.

Hello! everybody! i have a doubt with my application. my employer applied for LMO in mid march, in Toronto SC. we are still waiting.
In the recruiting efforts section, we attached links with ads in local papers that my employer did for couple months. but just that.
do you think that will be enough?

Thanks!!!

Advertising on Job Bank is mandatory, without which they may question your employer or even cancel the application.
It is the most basic thing to do while applying for LMO. Good luck!
