So sorry to hear you got a negative LMO Justheme :(

I am no expert on the wage range but I would advise to submit a salary that is mid range so you are exactly paid what the average person with your experience is paid.
I would not risk knocking a few dollars off, but I guess it depends on what your employer is prepared to do for you.
Before my LMO got submitted I spoke to a lawyer on the phone and he advised the salary should be the same or more than the going rate.

It surprises me that they have given you a negative LMO after such a long wait. I am really worried about my own application now..

They called my employer and informed him about the decision. We're fixing what they pointed out and reapplying soon

Yes. He has to re-advertise and offer a higher wage.

Question. My occupation is Type A. I know that the minimum ad requirement is Job Bank for 14 days. The company is also running an ad on Craigslist. Would that be enough?

Hi Justheme,

On the HRSDC websitie it says the following:

Conduct recruitment activities consistent with the practice within the occupation. For Noc A it should normally be enough to advertise on either Job Bank or a website for a minimum of 14 days.
I guess it really depends on what is common practice for your type of occupation. If craiglist is the first place you would look if you were trying to find a job your profession then I guess it is ok. But if most people look on another website; for example monster.ca, than it is better to use this. I am not sure if craiglist is really an official job search site,.

Hi justtheme,
sorry about your LMO decision and hope you get a positive decision.

I am waiting to hear a decision on my LMO. If the LMO is negative, how many days does CIC give you to leave the country?

They are processing my application this week. We mailed it on the 14th of September and it was received on the 30th, so I have been waiting for more than 13 weeks now. The backlog seems to be increasing all the time.

Mine was processed in 13 weeks too. Hopefully the new online application process will improve things...

I didnt get how it took Service Canada to receive application after 15 days ...whether postal service in Canada is so bad.

Also whether Service Canada slowing down process deliberately.

I don't know why it took 15 days to receive the application. I guess there is a pile of post and there is a backlog of 2 weeks for them just to open the envelopes. It is apparently quicker when the employer faxes the application.

There is a labour shortage at Service Canada because of spending cuts and some of the staff have been moved to process unemployment insurance.
SC asked my employer some more questions today. The plan is that they will make a decision on Friday and because of postal delays with Christmas I will not know anything until January. I have asked my employer to request a fax instead of a letter but I somehow doubt it will make much difference.

Just got some more info, on Friday they will mail the application to somebody else at SC who will finalize the application. With all the holidays it basically means I can expect to hear something from 15-20 January. By then it will be about 16-17 weeks since I submitted my application. :'(

Hello,

I work in Human Resources and submitted a LMO Application for a Foreign Worker to the Processing Centre in Toronto on October 5. The Application was "assigned" on December 6 however I have not received a call from the Processing Officer. I have called several times during the past 3 weeks to get an update however I am told that I have to continue waiting.

Are there any other HR Professionals who are waiting for a Positive LMO based on an Application submitted around the same time frame?

Thanks.
