LMO processing Time - Alberta

Hi can anybody share where they got their LMO? My fiance just got let go from his work of 5 years. And he badly needs to have a new LMO. or else I don't know what will happen to him. What would happen to him anyway? will he be send home right away or will he be given certain amount of time to look for another job who offers LMO?

He will need to find an employer that is willing to offer him a job and then apply for an LMO, which can take quite some time. You may want to find out if he is eligible for UI. I think if his work permit has not expired and if he has a visa and that is still good then he can stay until they expire. But I'm not positive about that.

Thanks, KARAN! It sure was a long wait. I also had to wait about 3 extra weeks because Job Bank was down and the employer was unable to advertise during that time.

I received 6 months worth of benefits after 11 months work back in 09. And he'll be allowed to stay in canada legally until his current work permit expires. Good luck to you vancouver girl

Hello, Everyone seems so helpful to each other here.
Actually I have a question too.
I'm a TFW in Alberta.My employer applied for an LMO on Feb17/2012.And,my Visa got expired on March24/2012. I know we have 90 days to stay legally in canada after visa expires. I'm hoping to get positive LMO. But my question if it takes over 90 days. Will I be forced to leave Canada ???

I will really appreciate your help .
