I don't know if you can generalize small vs large city. I think just as they say in real estate the three most important things are LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. As a retail supervisor looking for work in a small town I am sure you've thought, "how many stores will they have and how many supervisor positions are there likely to be or will the store owner assume that role, ie majority of postions would be front line. In a larger centre you would find many more openings at the supervisory level. HOWEVER....we are now dealing with a second issue - where are most Canadians NOT WANTING TO WORK? Where would there be less competition and more possibility for a positive LMO? This is where I think the importance of Location comes into play. Look at the JobBank and all the other websites. Look for postings that are old. What do they have in common? Maybe you will find a nugget or two there?
