Hi guys,
I really need some fast and reliable advice...I have got an LMO which is of a supervisor position in a restaurant. My education background is totally different from my work. I have done my masters in genetics from UK.

1) Can I apply for a PR based on the restaurant LMO? if yes than when and after how long?
2) Also do we need any IELTS score while applying for a PR?
3) what is a positive LMO and how do you know if you have got the right LMO (positive one)?

Please guys , help me....

Thanks again and eagerly waiting for all the kind replies.

Regards,
Shalin

1) You can apply for PR through Canadian Experience Class once you have one year of full time experience in Canada (your supervisory position should qualify you to apply for CEC). You may also qualify to apply for PR through one of the provincial programs depending on which province you will be located in. However before you worry about PR, I would first worry about getting a work permit. Having such a significant discrepancy between your education and the job are being hired for in Canada can sometimes be a problem.
2) IELTS is mandatory for all. No exceptions.
3) A positive LMO is an LMO that has been approved by HRSDC (Human Resources Canada.

Thanks a lot scylla,
I really appreciate your straight forward answer.
As you said regarding the work permit, I think so after getting the LMO in india, I will apply for the visa and after i land in Canada at the airport they give me the work permit. Am I right? So according to you at which stage of work permit I will face the problem? Is it in India or Canada? and if they reject my work permit can I re-apply for the same?

Honestly I dont have the clear path to obtain the work permit. Please give me your useful advice.

Thanks again for your co-operation.
