Without anything formal at the moment it will be interpreted as you quit because you left the employer and did not show up for work. Even if taking unpaid leave you need to have written approved leave. As already suggested you can speak to a labour lawyer but you are unlikely to get fast results so need to try and find another employer with an LMIA and start the process again. You should be able to get a consultation with a lawyer for a reasonable fee. As a WP holder you don’t qualify for EI because you don’t qualify to start another job immediately. YI was told that it was fine to take the leaves verbally but nothing on paper.No sickness pay.
