Hi,
my employer just starting the advertisement for the LMIA. He did one on the jobbank website and a nother one on kijiji. Is kijiji accepted? Two years ago he did jobbank and our local paper, but for some reason he doesnt want to do the paper again. And my second question, does it now realy cost $1000?

I'll help with your second question. Yes - the LMIA costs $1K.

It's now 3 ads

We did job bank
Kijii
Jobcal (I'm in Calgary)

Kijii is an acceptable form of advertisement

I heard that, Service Canada has stopped accepting Kijiji Ads. I may be wrong. But its safer to use the sites which are only for jobs. Job Bank, Indeed , Workopolis or career builder or monster something like that should work. Job Bank is mandatory though

Yeah, not sure of the kijii actually.

I double checked

Mine are on

Indeed,
Job bank and jobcal and kijii, so 4 in my case, hell, if i fail mine on lack of advertising, then their system is just wrong ahaha.

However i am pretty sure that putting your job on job bank then places it on indeed also, i think they might be linked.

Ok, Thanks!
Other question ( I hate this new foreign worker programm)
Are you all higher or lower skilled worker? Iam working as a Retail Store Supervisor, is it low or high? Iam so confused right now. My hubby just told me that all lower skilled application will not get approved. Only higher skilled with a minimum wage of $24.23 a hour. Is it true? And sorry for all my questions

No, it's not true. Low and high skilled is dependent on NOC code, high and low wage on median wage of the province, thus creating 4 possible combinations. Provided the application is complete, all of them are processed and considered.

Ok Thanks. Now I have to see if my boss is willing to pay the money. In case not:
Iam sending pretty soon my application for Permament Resident (Family Sponsorship) away. I saw that there is an option to apply together with the PR for an open work permit, the work permit will get processed as soon stage 1 is completed.
Do I need a LMIA for the open work permit? (I tried to find it on the CIC website but I can not find it, Iam getting dizzy from all this reading about working and PR.)
And if I do it this way, my status will be implied and Iam able to work till I hear back from them, right?

It depends how you are applying for spousal PR. The open work permit only comes with the inland process - not outland.

Iam applying inland. Do I need a LMIA for it?

No, you don't. Just make sure you send the OWP application with your sponsorship and you'll have implied status as long as your work permit hasn't expired by the time they receive your application.

Just make sure you target the three underrepresented groups
For newcomers to Canada / New immigrants to Canada I use www.newcanadianjobs.ca
for an aboriginal job site / first nations job site I use www.aboriginaljobboard.ca
for youth with barriers to the workforce I use www.canadayouthworks.ca

Do not use kijiji or indeed. I learned that lesson the hard way.
