@froze950

so no 600 points . I would agree this would be normal and people wouldn't need any one of those 600 specially in CEC category

Do candidates alreaady working full time + have a job offer letter in NOC Skill level B under PGWP ( Post Graduate Work Permit)], for a company but are not permanently hired yet, and have completed 1 yr experience in their field * require* an LMIA or is it an just * optional* ?

Does it have any relation to Points in the CRS ( Comprehensive Ranking System)?

Thanks and looking forward to replies.

You can create an EE profile without an LMIA or PNP, but in order to score higher in the CRS an LMIA or an EE PNP will give you another 600 points.

Without an LMIA or an EE PNP, the maximum score you can obtain is 600 out of 1,200.

Hi,

I am applying for PR through EE 2015 under NOC 2173 (Software Engineer) and I have a job offer from an employer in Ontario. I have requested my employer to apply for LMIA on my behalf.

As per variation mentioned at this link [ http://www.esdc.gc.ca/eng/jobs/foreign_workers/variations.shtml#h2.5 ] is my employer exempt from advertising or recruitment efforts? I would be really gateful if someone can shed some light on this.

Also can someone please share an HRSDC email where we can ask the same question?!

Thank You

Infact for the PNP, Employer has to to send some forms and pay fees for LMIA exemption (for PGWP students). This rules has implemented from feb 21, 2015 and I have just seen on the SINP website under important notice heading.

Curious to know how can negative LMIA affect the person working on PGWP

If someone is working on PGWP(open work permit) and his/hers LMIA gets declined for the current job does he/she need to quit the job? or they can still continue to work with no LMIA on PGWP basis?

No, PGWP entitles you working in Canada without LMIA (until expiry date of course). But all that work pursuing LMIA will all be in vain.

is it true to get a positive LMIA:

The employers need to show that they are paying the employee above median wage for the particular job and location.

for example:
I am a new grad i am getting $29 / hour for NOC 2173 in Ottawa, however the median for NOC 2173 is $43/ hour in Ottawa.
if this is true i would never get a positive LMIA

How are new graduates (working on PGWP) supposed to get LMIA because any entry level job is not gonna pay you at median.

so no positive LMIA, no 600 points.
There is no ENTRY jobs in NOC 0,A,B. So if you have a degree you are not supposed to look for 'entry jobs". However, neither you not any CANADIAN will ever get $43/hr right after graduation.
Besides, if your program was for 2+ years you get PGWP for THREE years, so you have time to move up.

oh really? in the ideal world maybe but even the Canadians need time to find a decent job after graduation. And international PGWP holders are people too, not robots. Besides most of the international students don't have "useful connections" like some Canadians I know personally do. I graduated in the summer of 2012 and I only found a full time, NOC relevant job in October 2013. And I was searching for a decent job like crazy, taking every kind of job I could find and sending out tons of resumes. Again, we are people too not robots!
