LMIA support (no fees) is just for PR to get the 50 points, not for you to get a work permit.

Alberta Tourism and Hospitality streams says that your job offer should be with a positive LMIA

So employer needs to pay the $1k and once you have approved LMIA, you apply for a closed work permit. To be eligible your NOC must be on the list and you must work for that employer for a minimum of 6 months on that closed work permit.

Hello, i have a query about the near to expire of Closed-Work Permit (thru LMIA). my friend is planning to extend his work permit before it will expire on August 2024. Do he need a new LMIA for the extension of his WP if he still working with the same employer? If he needs new LMIA for his extension, do the employer proceed with the same process of applying LMIA to ESDC? TIA.
