The simple fact is, you cannot put a timestamp on how long an LMIA will take.

I'm based in Alberta My forms got sent off sept 2nd and i had my approved LMIA by nov 2nd.

It all depends on the job, unemployment rate, province and lots of other contributing factors.

O really is that true they are taking 9 months in Alberta ? Unbelievable

As your LMIA is for EE as well as work Permit it would have been sent to St Johns office not Edmonton. From what I am reading EE LMIA have been sent back quicker. I hope it's not 9 months as mine is also so be submitted anyway now and it's also Dual Intent LMIA.
Food and Retail LMIA are also taking longer at the moment. So everyone is different. Someone actually got there's approved in 6 days as they were in top 10% wage bracket for Alberta.

Hi,

Can the employer apply dual intend LMIA if my husband is not eligible for EE right now? he need IELTS/Celpip first. Employer applied OPNP pre- screen in february, no answer right now. But PNP is not good for dual intend LMIA, right?

thanks a lot!

Applied for lmia on March 3rd 2015 under noc code 7322 automobile damage appraiser, rejected 27th April 2015, reason - you could train any canadian to do the job and the experience required was too much.
Reapplied on the 22 May 2015, file number and payment taken on 4th june now just a waiting game.

i did apply lmo application on 28 october,

you can submit an application for a new WP without the LMIA 2 weeks before your current permit expires. you will then be on implied status. You need to show proof that you have applied for the LMIA, details here: www .cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=701&t=17
