The simple fact is, you cannot put a timestamp on how long an LMIA will take.roman_emperor08 said:it takes 4 to 9 months processing for the lmia in alberta, 1 of my friend got a psotive LMIA after 5 months of waiting and 2 of my friends got a negative LMIA after 8 months of waiting and they were very disapponted after long time of waiting....

I'm based in Alberta My forms got sent off sept 2nd and i had my approved LMIA by nov 2nd.
It all depends on the job, unemployment rate, province and lots of other contributing factors.

U r right my noc 0621 and assistant manager in retail but waiting
As your LMIA is for EE as well as work Permit it would have been sent to St Johns office not Edmonton. From what I am reading EE LMIA have been sent back quicker. I hope it's not 9 months as mine is also so be submitted anyway now and it's also Dual Intent LMIA.Maaftgbkum said:O really is that true they are taking 9 months in Alberta ? Unbelievable

please some nice suggestion..
MY WORK PERMIT IS EXPIRING THIS MONTH BUT ALREADY APPLIED FOR WP EXTENSION.. CURRENTLY ON POST GRAD WP... MY WIFE HERE IS ON OPEN WP AS WELL HER WORK PERMIT EXPIRING NOVEMBER THIS YEAR. I ALREADY APPLIED FOR LMIA AND RECEIVED FILE NUMBER. SO CAN I JUST UPDATE CIC WITH FILE NUMBER OF LMIA?? SO THEY APPROVE WP BASED ON THAT OR WHAT???IrishinVan said:you can submit an application for a new WP without the LMIA 2 weeks before your current permit expires. you will then be on implied status. You need to show proof that you have applied for the LMIA, details here: www .cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=701&t=17
