My understanding is you don't need a LMiA to enter your application into the express entry pool BUT you will not the 600 points for having an organised job so you'll be enterin the Express Entry pool with less points.Enigma15 said:Hello Everyone,
Do we have to apply for LMIA before the process of Express Entry or after the process?
And what's the process for that?
Since you can't get another IEC visa yes you would need a LMIA from your employer to get a temporary work permit to stay and keep working.BrendanVDB said:Hi people, Do I read through this entire forum or should I just ask a question and hope that somebody doesn't remind repeating anything that's been posted?
I'm currently on a IEC Working Holiday Visa, expiring in July 20th of this year. I've got a skilled job, (Graphic Design) for which I have a Bachelors Degree from New Zealand for.
I want to stay, possibly just under the Temporary Working Visa. Having a bit of trouble getting info out of CIC.
Do I actually need an LMO/LMIA to apply for a visa?
What if I'm denied?
Thanks for that, I guess it looks like I'll be heading home then. Providing they find a qualified Canadian to fill my position.Kiwisteph said:Since you can't get another IEC visa yes you would need a LMIA from your employer to get a temporary work permit to stay and keep working.
Nothing would happen if it's denied, other than you won't be eligible for a new temporary work permit and will have to finish working when your IEC work permit expires in July
If you want to do this I'd recommend your employer starts ASAP it can be a lengthy process after the mandatory advertising period plus application period.
If you want to consider permanent residency having a LMiA and job offer will give you more points for express entry and a better chance of being invited to apply for PR
Hope that helps

Where abouts are you based? I assume you're from New Zealand, would be good to get your story on how you obtained your status in Canada.

Hi all,
My employer got a call from SC 2 days before.
They asked all questions and they had one querry so they asked my employer to reply within 2 days.
My employer already submitted his response yesterday so lets see how it goes now.
