guys i am new to this thread. I started my job posting last month at the prevailing wage rate of 17 an hour for retail store supervisor noc 6211. calgary. I was gonna apy for my lmia tomorrow. I just checked today that the prevailing wage rate has gone up to 17.50 an hour. Should I apply or get my ad reposted and wait until the end of another 4 weeks before I apply for it. I have my wp until 28 feb 2015. I have applied for my AINP and I am an international grad.? Any help

I'm no longer frustrated.

I took some great advice from a poster on these forums and they basically said, the more you stress about it, the worse it will be

Just do your day by days, get on with your life and be shocked and elated when your employer lets you know the LMIA has been mailed/faxed to them.

I now havent worked since september 2nd, after an original delay of 1 month i am soon to be off work for almost 2 months.

Luckily my employer values me highly and has continued to hold my job even though its coming into busy season (i work at a casino that is right next to the saddledome, so we get busy for hockey)

On the plus side, i have spent the last 2 months at the gym, training hard and eating well and health wise i have never felt better, (i smoked alot and drank ALOT of red bull and drank alot off shift aswell)

So there is that!

Good luck to all still waiting, lets hope we hear something soon.
Thanks for the advice bro. Lets hope for the best.

Hi,
My previous NOC was 7216, but they rejected it because lack of advertisement and also after changes in June median wage for this position was to low.
My new NOC is from low skilled positions and median is right :)
Hopefully it will work this time.

I wish they would give a reason as to why the advertisement is lacking so you can prevent the same thing happening again.

The rules do state, 3 advertisements(1 being job bank and that it must remain up throughout the entire process)

Other than that. What more can you do...

It was worst the second time we have sent the application. Even though my profession is exempted from advertising, they replied saying Third Party recruiter section is not filled in the application. I was speechless

You really do have to think whether or not they do it on purpose so we all just give up and go back to our home countries.

Ah no, its not that bad, i noticed the job bank advert was going to expire on the 26th of october.

So i had my employer re-list the job advert, obviously none of the resumes will be accepted, its just because one of the rules is that the JOB BANK advertisement must remain online throughout the entire process.

Good job i noticed because that would have sucked had it expired and they went to check and it wasnt online and they rejected it because of it.

Hopefully someone can answer this question.

Ok, so on the job bank ad my job is advertised at $46500 but because of I got a raise I now earn $50500.

Surely they understand pay raises and with that, on the job bank do I put the entry salary or what I earn now?

On the lmia application it's $50500.

Thoughts?

Either way it's all above the median and so can't make that much of a difference

We advertised for less than I earn and at the bottom we put will pay based on experience etc. The LMIA matched what the job advertised for as base salary. So your LMIA doesn't match your job ad?

Yeah thats what i thought.

Awesome, cheers buddy.
I'm saying your application should probably match your job ad, which is why our lawyers didn't put my actual salary on my application.

Might be too late for that.

You try and be honest as possible and it can end up biting you in the ass.
