Hi guys,
Sorry a basic question. I just want to start the LIMA application. I am working full time as a pipeline integrity engineer in Alberta and my rmployer is willing to help me for the process.
1) where can I find all the forms and requirment
2) i have heard there is a min wage that I need to have to be able to apply. How much is that?
3) any idea on the processing time.

Thanks a lot for your help

U can use only that form to extend WP.

Did your employer already applied for LMIA? When did he apply? When will ur WP expire?

What the lawyer said is correct; u cannot get an approved WP without a positive LMIA. But if ur employer applied already for an LMIA and received a file number, u can apply for an extension and avail the implied status. U can do a paper application which takes around 100 days to process. So if u get a positive LMIA within that time, u can update it with CIC and ur WP application will be approved. Otherwise u will get another 3 months on implied status, but ur WP application will be rejected.
My employer already applied LMIA at May, we have received the phone call asking for more detail. Last week, we have asked the officer, she said still waiting for decision. My WP will expire at the beginning of July. I will submit the form by paper tomorrow.

Finally got the approval after 27th week. Here is my timeline:

Noc: 6211 ( British Columbia)
Application Submit: 1st December, 2015
File No Received: Mid December
Additional docs req: 10th January, 2016
Add docs Submitted: 05th February, 2016
File Escalation request: 07th June,2016
Call received: 20th June, 2016
Send approval letter by Fax: 20th June, 2016

It was a long wait. Finally got the positive LMIA. It was just end of 27th Week. So those who are waiting more than 20 weeks, dont be worry. Hope fully will get the positive result soon. In fact the more you wait the more is the chance of getting positive LMIA. Cheers!!

hi, alekspara, do you count from the filed date? can I ask which day did you get the file number?
Hello Shamrock,
I'm counting from the day that the application was submitted (December). We received the file number about a week later (end of December), so even if we should count since that date there's no big difference...

Is it too early to ask Service Canada for the status now in my case?

NOC : 5241 (Quebec) - Graphic designers or Illustrators
Application submit : April 19 (through Canada Immigration lawyer office - owner of this forum)
File received : May 19
Additional document required : June 2 (but letter received on June 10)
Document required submit : June 13

I hope it's not gonna take long... my work permit is going to expire this August. A bit worry...

I believe there is no problem calling them, but I'm pretty sure they will not provide any useful information. They always say the same: "It's being processed".

Regarding your visa, the link below might be useful for you.

If your application pending for a decision more than 25 weeks then you can ask service Canada for the Escalation of your file. But remember you only ask for the escalation if it is crossed 25 weeks.
