Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi,

I'd like to confirm something with those who is familiar with the process of getting a LMIA. So, my employer is in the process of getting a LMIA for me and I was told today that they had contacted the Government and had found out that now the minimum for the position to be advertised is 2 months instead of 1 months as it was originally. :-\ But I can't find the confirmation for this anywhere:

The advertisement must be posted for a minimum of 4 consecutive weeks starting from the first day the ad appears and is accessible to the general public.
The advertisement must be posted during the 3 months prior to the employer applying for an LMIA.
That's what is written on the http://www.esdc.gc.ca/ website.

It still says 1 month for higher skilled occupations: http://www.esdc.gc.ca/eng/jobs/foreign_workers/higher_skilled/general/index.shtml

It does say on the ESDC website that:

Additional Advertisement Efforts

Employers may be required to conduct alternative or additional advertisement efforts such as, increased duration (length of time) or broader advertisement (whether local, regional or national). These additional efforts would be required if Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC)/Service Canada determines that it would likely yield qualified Canadians and permanent residents who are available to work in the occupation and region.

So I guess they can change the rules depending on the job.

What is the job role?
