Congratulations for LICs who have received open work permit!! Just wondering what kind of jobs have you found with your OWP? Was it hard to find a job other than caregiver ? Can anyone share your experience?

Congrats to all who have sent off their applications. Continue to be encouraged and remember hard work never goes un-rewarded. Also a word of encouragement to all those still waiting to complete their requirements. I sent off my application Feb. 12. I got a AOR email fr CIC on the 3rd of March. I hope this is a good sighn that open permit will b granted soon. If anyone could share their experience it would b highly appreciated. Thank u and God bless to all LCPs.

I sent off my application Feb. 1 and received an email from CIC on Feb. 18. I really hope to receive my Open Work Permit soon. Good luck to all!

I have problems regarding one of the requirements under LIVE in CAREGIVER PROGRAM
It says here
• You must have six months of full-time training in a classroom setting or twelve months of full-time paid employment, including at least six months of continuous employment, within the past 3 years, with one employer in a field or occupation related to the job you are seeking as a live-in caregiver.


im a nurse with 1 year and 6 months experience in a clinic. I am only a volunteer there and expect there is no salary.
Do you think i am qualified in the experience?

Im just worried if my papres will be refused.. Somebody told me i will receive a refusal.

Sent in my application for EWP online. It's in God's hands.
Waiting time is supposed to be 53 days for online applications. So, now i wait

you are luky one, I send my OWP AND PR appl in Nov 29 2012, CIC received Dec.10 2012; and I can not cheack any information about that how is appli going. At the same time, my WP will end in April 2013, I am so worried about when I can get my OWP.

Hi girls, I've just got my OPEN W Permit today. HAPPY to no end It's a great feeling of relief after 3 years of hard work! It's just incomparable to anything! My timeline - sent appl for OWP/PR - Nov 7, 2012; CIC received Nov.13, 2012, OWP issued Feb. 11, 2013.

I am anxious about the time, my current visa will expired in April 2013 ??? :'(
Someone can give any idea about how to know the application status except the CIC website?

there's a lot of factors why some were refused. Just attached your RLE. I don't have a work experience,too. .hehehehe. .i believe we still have a chance. .i already receive my AOR. .waiting for ST request

u mean 2 say you dont have any experience at all then you have just received an approval?
