Live-in Caregiver PR application sent in 2010 timeline...anybody else waiting??

Hello everyone:

I just joined this forum to ease some anxieties about the process of waiting for my OWP and my PR. I sent my documents to CIC back in March/April 2010 and CIC states process started June 18, 2010. Fair enough, there was obvioulsy some delay in processing times. It is now almost the end of May and I have not heard anything. When I check my application status on line it just tells me that it is "In Process". I am hoping that no news are good news, but the waiting is agonizing.....anybody else along the June 2010 submission timeline waiting just like me??? Has anyone received anything yet?? I would at least like to receive my OWP, I submitted my application as a single individual and have no dependants!! :'( The timelines seem pretty lengthy, at this time I do not have a ANY OHIP coverage, but I am lucky that I am still with the same employer....

Hi, I'm Emma E. Luistro 45 years old I have three children, my eldest son is nursing graduate 24 yrs. old, my second son is HRM graduate 22 years old and my daughter is BS Pharmacy student 19 years old. My concern is I would like to apply as a caregiver in Canada. I'm presently working as a medical secretary in a private clinic it was 24 hours open with shifting of duties. I know how to perform ECG, taking vital signs to the patients, get their records, received payment and answer telephone calls.

Hoping your response and may God Bless You.

Yours Truly,

Emma

If you qualify then find an employer who's willing to apply for a LMO in your favor.

In order to qualify under the Live-in Caregiver Program candidates must meet a number of requirements:

You must have successfully completed the equivalent of a Canadian high school education. This requirement will help to ensure that if you apply for permanent residence after two years as a live-in caregiver, you will be able to succeed in the general labor market. Studies indicate that the majority of new jobs in Canada require at least a high school education.
You must have six months of full-time training in a classroom setting or twelve months of full-time paid employment, including at least six months of continuous employment with one employer in a field or occupation related to the job you are seeking as a live-in caregiver. You may have gained your training or experience in areas such as early childhood education, geriatric care, pediatric nursing or first aid. You may also have completed your training as part of your formal education. This experience must have been obtained within the three years immediately prior to the day on which you submit an application for a work permit.
You must be able to speak, read and understand either English or French at a level that allows you to function independently in a home setting. For example, you must be able to contact emergency services if required and to understand labels on medication. You will be unsupervised for most of the day and may be required to communicate with someone outside the home. A good knowledge of English or French will also enable you to read and understand your rights and obligations.

i think they only working on the newly received application forms. like data encoding and checking if your paper application is complete or not... if not they will return the papers to you..like one of my colleagues friend..she submit her paper in feb 2011 and in mid May she got them back because of incompete form..so meaning to say they just accept and accept forms and payments ($$$) but no results. they are not different from scamers who promise us this and that. who ever is responsible for this ...

I feel so nervous. I just sent my PR application. just 2 hours ago.
I was thinking so much. did i forgot anything... I checked many times. When will I get the OWP?

It's never been easy to work as a Live-in Caregiver .

Hope everything will be fine.

A question: Anybody sent the application in 2009 or 2010 could share the timeline? How long does it take for the total 2 stages?
CIC's timeline is 11 months + 15 months= 26months?
over 2 years...??? too long...

.

Do not get me wrong, but if you had read all the people's comments in this forum you will realize the processing times are 15 months since CIC receive your application. That's why all the anxieties, stress, hopelessness from everybody. In CIC website you will find the most important answer wich is how long it takes to get OWP & PR. Good luck!
