@ rose & marshmallow:

You're right SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FRUSTRATING!!!CIC IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO UNFAIR!!! Why is it the processing time for the application for Protected Persons and Convention Refugees moves so fast! Have you noticed it? Before the processing time for first stage approval moved up also to 13 months and stucked on Feb 19, 2010. But as of last week it went down to 6 months & they're working on application up to Sept 2010. Today it goes down to 5-6 months & the update was on Oct 12, 2010....WHY?????? :( >:( :'( WHAT ABOUT US?????? :( :( :( >:( >:( >:( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

This suck. I understand the process is long but why aren't the papers moving for how many weeks now? It's stuck with mar 21 papers and process gets longer? Don't get it now? What's next 15 months because summer vacation?

I am thinking that Why is it the processing time for the application for Protected Persons and Convention Refugees moves so fast! ?????
They get money from government every month. we are paying tax everymonth......
It is not fair~

I heard that they're prioritizing japanese people for the PR thing.Thats why refugees is getting fast in processing.

It is not fair at all. I am nothing against the refugee people but some of them take advantage of the system. I knew a refugee guy who didn't want to work even though he had an OWP, he was happy getting the money from the government. free food from the food bank, free school, free health care, even free rent, etc. Isn't that sooo unfair?

I just spend my day reading all of you people in this forum. And I am so agree that Live in CG people should do something. But how to raise our voice if they give a $#@. I am unemployed and I am so close to accept a job offer, even though I haven't get my OWP. I know it's coming very soon. but don't know if should I say yes to the job. It can be my once in a life time chance. :(
Anybody knows any situation similar? What should I do? ???

@bbggliz- I won't. Just bit too risky. It might affect my PR application specially they are doing background checking now. That unathorized work might leak causing you much problem.

i am trying to get the number of the migrante alberta to call the organization, they are willing to help us, they said we have to talk to lots of caregiver we know so that we can be heard

rosellyalung,,, you are very nice and keep searching the organization to look for the help... I know you did lots of work on it.
Should we open a new topic to let all Live-in Caregiver know and give the idea?

thank you joycelam!i guess we can i will send you a link to read about the situation of ours here in canada

Hi guys,
I've been reading this forum for a long time now. Thank you for all your input.
I have called CIC several times. From this forum I've learned that there is someone who had received OWP late February or early March, and their application was received after March 21. The agent could not explain how it had happened. And I was told to wait till it was 12 months and call them if I didn't hear from them.

I did call them on Monday and guess what.... I was told that though it was 12 months from the date my application was received they are still working on March 21, 2010. I was told that I might get some news in a week or 2, or even any day now. And in 2 days the processing time went up again.

This whole process just does my head in!!!! Just when I get closer (like days) they increase the processing times again and again!!!!! I don't have a problem with a family I work for. I must say I am lucky.
But it is s frustrating! It's been 3 years. I want to move out and live my life. I am missing out on some good jobs. I even went for an interview and got a job hoping to start early April, cause I trusted CIC on their processing time. But I don't think it is happening now.

I saw that e-mail went out to Migrante Canada in Alberta. I e-mailed to their office in BC. I'm not philipino but I don't think it will matter in a situation like this. I will let you know if I get a reply.

Lets hope we can get this thing moving somehow!!!

@madeira- i e-mailed the migrante too, they said that we have to be united so that our voices will be heard where are you here in canada?
