Live-in caregiver PR applicants for April,May and June timeline

@honeygirl-my employer extend my work permit, but i am planning to apply for EI, would it not affect our application for owp and PR? does my employer has to have a reason for my application of EI? how much usually will you get?

sara wat is the status of ur work permit? if it is valid u can apply your EI make sure that ur employer had a note on ur ROE that they dont need ur service and u can apply for it... more than haft of our wages maybe 600$ or more u can collect on our EI make sure your had good reason... ok

@honeygirl=- iam rosellyalung, it is still caregiver and it is valid up to jan 2012, i just had one employer and she is the one who extended my work permit and is it ok that she will terminate me and then apply for my EI? what did your employer said about the reason of you termination?

hi rosellang if ur employer teminate ur contact its ok just tell ur employer to make a note that she dont need u anymore that is ur reason to be unemployed and apply for EI... not like me i terminate my job coz of my employer.. i had very good reason to quit so wen i apply my EI they told me u have a rite to quit to this kind of employer... ur work permit is valid so u can stay in canada... r u waiting for ur Open work permit and PR? if yes when did u submit ur application? i phone the immigration i tell them wats happend to me they say u can wait ur open work permit but ur are not allow to accept any job... now am sad am joblesssssssssssss... Good thing there is EI to support my self while am waiting for my OWP

@honeygirl-yup i applied my owp and pr last august 2010, so if we are unemployed by this time we can apply for EI? ok that is nice to know, i am scared they might ask me to go home if they knew i dont have a job. my work permit is still valid up to jan 2012

@rosellyalung yea ur good to stay mine too i submit my OWP and PR last aug. the immgration told me its in background checking starting Feb. they told me just wait... dont worry u can apply ur EI gud luck for us hope very soon we get our OWP in Jesus name

hi sara i file my EI last monday its ok we can apply for Ei coz they diducted to ur salary... but only if u fired or layoff and also if u quit job and they have a good reason to quit u can apply for EI... i file mine online its easy then i went to service canada to bring some document that they need like work permit and ROE... hope it will help

@ rosellyalung- you don't have to go home if 1) you have a valid permit (yours was till 2012) and 2) you have an "implied status" (since you already filed your PR before your work permit expires.) Lots of caregiver losses their jobs after 2yrs or either quit. It doesn't affect the application.

Helloy guys! we have tried handing in the letter to our MP here in Alberta and he said that we should mail the letter directly to Jason kenney, i guess we should do that all of us will have to do it send letters to Kenney until he realizes our concerns

@rosellyalung u dont need to apply 2x for Ei if they grant u in ei u will recive check every month up to 48 weeks unemployed they will stop that wen u start working dont worry ur in canada lol
