This is really great news, Rosellyalung. Keep us updated. The minister Kenney is, probably campaigning now and has no time to answer any letters. His all team are very busy too. They are working hard to keep their jobs...

I JUST reached CIC on phone finally, they checked and said my papers are all good and since they received my application on june 24th 2010, they will send my letter of approval by may 24th and automatically mail me my open permit couple days later. And after I get my open permit I can leave the country and visit my family after 2 years, even if I don't have a job yet. He said that the open work permit authorizes you to come back in the country even if you don't have a job, all you need is Visa...but thank God I don't need visa to enter Canada since I am from Europe. Phewwww.......at least some good news

It looks like at CIC they are more focused not on processing the papers, but on keeping us WAITING for AT LEAST 11-12 months. This is their main job. Not to let anybody free before the sentence term. Stupid attitude, stupid rule...

Nope, my country doesn't need visa. I am from Hungary, Europe.

I need your help! I just finished my 2nd year on March,31 and I want to submit my PR&OWP my questions are

1. Now my new work permit is on implied status so Can I submit my applications before I get a new one?
2. what is the document checklist form for OWP? Is it IMM5556? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5556E.PDF if yes, do I have to gather all documents the same as a worker?

How does it works? You should have PR on process? And valid work permit? Even you haven't receive your owp yet?
