Hi, everyone. Just want to share good news! I'm June 2, 2010 married applicant ( my husband is here, working under FWP). The cic officer just called me from Vegreville and told she's issuing our OWPs. (WE both filled out applications for OWP when we applied for PR). I'm jumping with joy cause I quit my job a month ago and expecting a baby. She even said sorry for long wait! That's a Christmas miracle! :) :) :)
@ Lana0303 & depressgirl.. CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH OF YOU!!! ;)

Please, I need some advice..some advice by law and rights under the live in caregiver program.

I would like to know if there is any information or booklet saying what to do when your employees go to vacation?

The family that I work with is taking a week off in the end of december and 2 weeks off in february. They are going to other city as a vacation. I'm not going with them. they didn't invite me to go and if they had done it I would say no.

I work for them for few years already, and usually they took my vacation with their vacation. But now I don't want to take my vacation with them because I want to travel next year, I want to choose when I want to take my vacation. We don't have nothing about it in our contract.

Should them pay me for those weeks? by law? Usually she bank those hours but this time I asked not. Because will be too many hours...and it's not fair, it's their vacation, they choose those vacation, not me.

I think there's an explanation about that in labor standards- domestic workers... Look for the brochure if they have it in any service canada branches.
