@stress 27 why didnt you renew your work permit? As long as your staying with same employer its fine but once the employer terminate your services thats another thing because youll be out of status. And no valid work permit means no medicare and cannot go out of canada bec you need re-entry visa which you can only apply when have valid WP. Anyways its your decison to keep on implied status until you received your OWP. If by chance call CIC if you can renew your wp without any restoration bec its pass 90 days and your on implied status. Goodluck.

Hello everyone!
I guess we just really be more patient & strong! Let's remember that our goal for coming here is for the Family & esp. to our children, we want the best for them. God bless us all!

Last april 2011 i happen to call cic and ask this call center agent about the file of my dependants,i was happy when he said cic inform the visa office in manila that i have a dependants and send their file,i just didn't ask when did they send it,i thought they are gonna send lc2 kit to my family after then i wait for a month or two but nothing came then i call the cic again last june to ask about it but then she said that no file has sent,i got shock because how come two months before they said they sent it? this a big joke, she said that the agent must be confuse, how can he be confuse if he is reading it in front of the computer and i give him my name employer birthday client id number?i was so frustrated and didn't kbow what to do,anybody experience this?

Hi !

My WP is expired in December 2011 but I would like to go and visit my family, I already send my paper for the PR the last January 2011 but I don't know If I can go to my country this December and come back without problems? I already send my extension the last September but maybe It will coming later.
Please guys Do you know if I can go to my country?

@wsongco i called CIC so many times n they told me i tht i dont need to renew my WP as u said, if i stay wit my current employer, wel they would not terminate my contract, im sure abt tht...bt as u said i dont hv any health coverage n my dad is very ill :(

thx for ur answer

I now have proven that the stories are all true... My friend submitted her application on july 6, cic received it on july 8 2010. she now has an open work permit and has already been sent a schedule for her PR visa which is on oct 26, it was originally 16 but she was out of town so she called to re- schedule it. Now, her friend who was issued her oprn work permit last year, 2010, still diesn't have her visa... What kind of system is this? Pity the ones who are issued owp way back 2009 and 2010 who has dependents, i wonder where on earth their application has been placed! They are effing so screwed up!!!

Hi Panda28,

If you can return to Canada before your current WP expires, I guess your fine. But if you plan to return a month after, then wait for your renewed WP first before getting out of the Canada. You need a valid WP when you re-enter Canada. :)

i called CIC today... and guess what the customer agent told me....

sorry that the processing is taking so long...... that they can`t issue a work permit because they know that we will not work as live-in caregiver anymore once we receive an open work permit...

for those living in BC who are unemployed now while waiting for the OWP and will have an expired Health Card, they can renew the health card up to 3 months only... FYI

Before coming here i said to myself, whatever it takes its just fine for as long as i am here already FINE, but to the end you have principles in life , you have DIGNITY to protect, you have your RIGHTS and FREEDOM in order for you to be called FREE..I thought CANADA is the DREAM, but its getting me fed off, it is because I AM BEING ABUSED by the CANADIAN SYSTEM,
ABUSED OF certain principles, abused of my right to update my knowledge my education, Abused of my right to be with my Family who are waiting for me for almost 3 years now, ABUSED my high skilled knowledge ...In a ceratin point their will come a time that for your being GOOD an Patience are being tested by time and situations...BUT WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING AND WHY THEY ARE CHANGING their RULES because we are INVOLVE..
HOW TO GET INVOLVE IS TO SHOW TO THEM THAT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH...WE are human being too like them.
WE ARE BEING ABUSED, not by our employer BUT BY THE IMMIGRATION...LET US MOVE NOW..THEIR IS NOTHING TO LOSE..
IT IS BETTER TO FIGHT OUR RIGHTS THAN GOING HOME FOR NOTHING...
Im agreed with you kablas! @ Cjoie28 yes we experienced the accessibilities of other stuffs that we can't do it back home, but thats not enough to settle in, we are talking our human rights here, we need to let them know that their system is not right, we need to slap to their face that the way they treated us is not right its killing us mentally and emotionally, its better to fight than to sit back and wait for nothing. We LIC's and including our family are the one suffering in this system. so why need to settle on what they want to do with us if we can do something better than that.

yeah too many caregivers... is this their way of eliminating caregivers in the country? those who have no resources to wait for the long processing can freely go back home to their country? for those caregivers who have no relatives or close friends to support them here have no choice but to go home...

i am october 2010 applicant, some of my friends with the same timeline are thinking of going back home because they have no relatives here to support them... the inaccurate system of processing is so frustrating... are we really waiting for something or nothing?
Your October 2010, how much more Im June 3, 2010 and until now i have not receive my owp either.. Tell to your friends if they go home now for nothing its their loss but if we continue to make a noise until they get sick and tired of US , for sure they will do something to give what we earned in this country. If all LIC's will united as one voice we will accomplish something we can change the History of LIC. ITS NOT TIME TO GIVE UP GUYS ALL WE NEED IS UNITY
