Yes - I have heard that some also received their passport back very quickly while others are waiting. Our nanny said there was someone who was approved the same week she was and is in the same situation where it is taking weeks. I think we just need to be patient however if your HK status is expiring that's where the worry may be.

Once I receive additional information or hopefully having the nanny on a plane soon I will let you know.

i don't know tho cos i know someone who sibmitted herpassport on feb 16th and she got it back after 3 days. and someone from my agency got her approval too after 3 weeks of waiting. so i don't really know if there is something wrong with my application that it would take theselong for them to decide to give u an approval or not. im getting anxious about it now

For your information, if you read the CIC HK website. All the online submission can return the passport for 3 business days. Like me I was online submission and after 3 days I got my visa thru VAC. Clarify to your agency what method of submission they did.

Well in my case I didn't go home but yes you can still go home in your country once the visa has been received, the problem is in the immigration of your country if they will ask another requirements and processing to be able to exit. By the way, where are you come from?

Yes from what I heard and experienced from my friends who went home to Philippines. And another processing fee for all of these. But to make sure, ask the Phil Consulate in HK. Goodluck

hi denyelay i just email cic and tell them my situation now. for your info my employer sign already my one month notice until march 10. but i must worried if did they will check my status at hk
immigration. i still not yet inform the hk immigration about my one month notice.do you think they will check it or i must go to hk immigration to inform them?

Did your employer inform the HK immigration? If not you can request your employer to move the date of your one month notice so your status in HK will not be affected while waiting for your visa canada. That's the best thing you can do. Just make a heart to heart talk to your HK employer. And if the HK immigration still don't have knowledge of your one month notice you don't have to worry but request to move the date of your letter. Thank you both for the information. denylay the information you have shared sounds like exactly the same issue that you have described. The nanny we are looking to hire has a visa for HK expiring on March 8th. The passport is still with CIC waiting to be stamped. I was discussing with the nanny how she can leave for a few days and get a visitor visa back into HK without a passport. She said her agency has a solution for this but the nanny does not know what it is yet.

So if I understand it correctly, it looks like the nanny will be able to stay in HK until she gets her passport back. If it is stamped we can quickly buy her a ticket to come to Canada. But she/her agency needs to inform HK immigration of this situation. Do I have it correct?

Our MP is unable to push things more quickly, but is able to get an update whereby she let us know that March 18th would be after normal processing times but hoping she gets her passport back from CIC before that.

Tonight is Friday in HK, we are hoping she gets it Friday but not that hopeful given the timelines.

Yes if your nanny don't still receive the passport unyil March 8, they need to inform the HK immigration about the situation so she will not put in Overstay status. HK immigration will understand that.

1. As a new rule applies, she can still work as a nanny even not a college graduate but she can't qualified to apply for PR unless she will study after the contract.
2. Just read the HK and Singapore police website how to obtain police clearance.
3. Medical in HK is 2100HKD.
4. Go to CIC website for live-out arrangement.

hi denyelay. i submitted my application thru VAC. and also my passport. when i passed my passport last feb 10, they told me that it will take 4 weeks to process and it depends on the visa officer so they can't really give u an exact date. im just a little bit anxious about it if there is still a possibility that i'll get refused with my visa application.

Honestly only visa officer can answer your query but what I know is if you submitted your documents and passport to VAC, it really takes 1 month to return because of the big volume of applicants.Just be positive always. Do you have an agency or authorised represenrative?

How quickly can our nanny be ready to leave once she gets her passport? Within a couple of days?

Once she received her passport and fixed her status in HK immigration she can immediately fly.

I'm just wondering if your representative is authorised by the CIC such as Immigration Consultant or Lawyer, why she needs to submit the documents thru VAC, why not online because most of the authorised representatives do the submission online to expedite the process.

idk too. i just let the agency take care of everything for me.i just hope that maybe next week il get my passport back cos it's been more than 3 weeks now
