Dear all!

If you are reading this, congratulations on completing your landing! I know you feel happy and relaxed. But some of your are little anxious as to when you'll get your PR card. Very normal. :) So was I! :D

Here are some simple steps I have gathered from a couple of threads and trying to bring it on one thread.

Linking PR Card application;
1. Login into your CIC account as you usually do.
2. Reach the page where you click "Check full application status" to view your application and messages
3. But do not click on that rather click on " Add (link) your application to your account"
4. Select the "Category" from the dropdown as "Permanent Resident Card"
5. Under Application Details, from "Please select one" select "Unique Client Identifier (UCI) and Family Name"
6. Put your UCI as it is NO SPACES and NO HYPHES
7. Put your Family Name as on you CoPR - UPPER and LOWER CASE matter here
8. The tricky one, Place of Birth Section. Here "City/town of birth" is very very crucial. Copy it as it is on your CoPR, any commas, upper/lower case, spaces, just copy it here.
9. Select your "Country/territory of birth" from the drop down
10. Next section is pretty easy as you just select your "Date you became a permanent resident" from dropdown. This is the day you did your landing by either flagpole or landing interview
11. Put "Country of Citizenship" and "Current marital status" from dropdowns.
12. Click "Search for my application", if all the inputs are correct then it will show you that the system has found your application. You just have to click Link my application to account and it will now be shown on "View the applications you submitted" page with your Permanent Residency application.
13. If after clicking "Search for my application" it show no application found, click Try again and try to input all the values carefully again. Each day it allows you 5 attempts. It it still doesn't find your application, you can try again the next day.

Please let me know if you are successful or have any questions! :)
oh thank you so much! Very helpful!

Hi All,
Need any helpful info/ insights on my situation. Below is our timeline.
-COPR approved - Jan 15 2020
-Landed in Toronto - June 25 2020
-Applied (i.e linked the principal applicant’s PR application to the CIC profile) for PR card - June 27 2020. The status is submitted. No Ghost update or any other messages or emails.
- Still not able to link the PR application for dependent applicant.
-Applied for SIN (both principal and dependent) - July 10 2020
-Received SIN of principal - July 21 2020
- Called Service Canada from USA to ask about dependent’s SIN on Aug 14 2020 and they told there was some problem with his application so we need to wait and the file is yet to be opened.

For the PR card and SIN, I have given my friend’s address and I have even received my SIN. Now, since their lease has expired they have moved to a new place and I am looking at the process to change the address for PR card and SIN (dependent) I am trying to update the address in the below link
https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do but whenever I give my UCI or application number it says not able to identify a file.
1) Has anyone done this process through the link or through web form ?
2) Was it successful?
3) Do we get any notification about the address change ?
4) Does this change of address apply for SIN as well? Or is it just for the PR card ?
Thanks in advance for your replies:)

Hi! I landed on 12th july and its been 40 days and there has been no email or any kind of update about receiving my application or anything about my PR card. Tried linking the application but its says no application found.
I have tried entering city of birth in different forms but still unable to find application.
I was wondering if anyone received any email or any notification in the following days after landing about their pr card status?

Nope I am not able to link it yet. We called the IRCC and they said my husband’s landing information is missing like they don’t have his landing details and we were surprised on how !! We mailed them again in a web form with the Stamped CoPR copy And passport stamped page and passport copy and the flight details. And his SIN is also delayed coz of some details missing in his application and we guess this would be the reason. Will update here if I get any more information from them.

Good. Mine is Montreal.
Hello, Mine is Montreal too. I received COPR on Aug 20th and I mailed my picture on Aug 21st, which was delivered on Aug 24. I was able to link my application on Aug 28th.

Can you please tell us that when did yo sent your picture to Montreal office? and is your status still "Submitted" or has it changed lately?

Guys!! don't panic if application is not being linked. Please do not exhaust yourself by trying 5 times every single day.

Just call the IRCC agent and ask for help.

I did the same after many failed attempts for 3 days in a row. Phoned IRCC and spoke to agent, He said " wait let me see in your file and give you the exact information"... He given me the exact combination of birth of place and I was able to link It right away.

He stayed with me until it was linked... :)

Hope it helps!!!

Hi all,

update in linking my husband’s PR card application- Finally ..... I was able to link it today morning. There was no issue with his place of birth (accepted as it was in his Passport) but since the IRCC officer had misplaced or missed ( no idea how that’s even possible) his application and there was no landing information for him there was a pblm to link his application from our end even after giving multiple tries with the place of birth. So now his application is linked and we have to wait for both of our PR cards.

So incase if the card is not linked I would suggest you guys to call IRCC directly instead of trying it daily for five times. I was so frustrated since I kept trying from July and kept mailing them multiple webforms. So just call them even if it’s a one hour wait to talk to an agent. We suspected it’s not a pblm with his place of birth since his SIN was also delayed. That’s when we decided to call IRCC directly instead of replying to their generic mails

Regarding his SIN, there is still no update whether they have rejected or if his file is still not open but the Service Canada agent said they are missing some info so they haven’t sent his card yet. Don’t know what they mean.Planning to call them this week again.

Bottomline - Call and confirm with the respective office if there is any delay or if you suspect something out of the ordinary because during this pandemic we do not know what can go wrong where with the manual application that the IRCC officers process after we land. It can even be a pblm with the place of birth or they would have not started with your file but confirming is always good:)
