I apologize if this has been mentioned already but my wife first had issues trying to link our app. She got it to work by entering the bare minimum information to identify the app. By leaving out the passport information she was able to link it. So for anyone having trouble just skip all the optional fields during the linking process.

It took me forever to link our application.
It was worth the effort just to found out the eligibility and background checks are in process.

eligibility and medical results lang ang naka review in process sa akin.

I am sponsoring my mom and my wife is sponsoring my in-laws under the Family Sponsorship, Parents & Grandparents category, Hence I am trying to link their applications to my and my wife's MyCIC accounts.

My questions are:
(1) Has anyone been able to successfully link the Family Sponsorship application?
(2) Do we need use the Sponsor's credentials or the Principal Applicant's credentials?
(3) In the City of birth, we had listed the city as well as the province of the birth. Do we need to include both (exactly as in the application) or only the city of birth?
(4) Do we need to add +1 (include the Sponsor) to the number of applicants question?

Thanks, Sridhar.

Hi.

1. Yes
2. PA
3. City only
4. Yes.

Hmmm, I just saw something interesting on the CIC site. Essentially linking the application to your CIC account is only useful for the applicant, not the sponsor. So there will be no indication of SA in these details at all, it will only begin updating once the app is sent to the VO for the principal applicant stage...

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/link.asp

Expand the section for "Find out when more applications will be available" and you see:

July 23, 2016

Canadian Experience Class (applications made before January 1, 2015)
Family Sponsorship (excluding applications to become a sponsor)
Federal Skilled Worker (applications made before January 1, 2015)
Federal Skilled Trade (applications made before January 1, 2015)
Provincial Nominee Program (applications made before January 1, 2015)
