Hi all, before we link our applications tomorrow, I wanted to ask, does it matter whether the PA or sponsor links their account to their own UCI, or should both reflect the same info and then either one can log in?

Same question here.
I need that somebody explain me everything about "cic my account"

I have the same question, is it the sponsor who will link PR application or the PA?

The PA in our case has an account already from when we applied for the TRV, so I guess we'll try with that UCI, and then possibly try creating one for the sponsor with their UCI and see if the information is the same? Not sure to be honest.

July 23rd which is supposed to be the day we can link our applications online!! Something to keep us busy as we wait on our applications.

It's better than eCAS of course but not detailed like GCMS notes. You will be able to view: application status (Open/Closed), Review of medical results (passed or failed), review of submitted documents (any additional required document will be shown and document will be uploaded here), interview schedule (if any), review of biometric information, and final decision information. You will still need to order your GCMS to see the progress. The good thing about My Account, you are alerted of any updates as long as an officer opens your file (you get an automated email........you will even get unwanted emails telling you that there has been no update since last time...) and no more missed emails from CIC (unless you don't use My Account)...you can start registering for "My CIC account" now.

I hope this is the case, remember they had already postponed this once, annoyingly at the last minute too!

Do you know if it's meant to be up by the morning time in Canada on July 23rd?

I guess we can try both; no harm in it. :P

If you don't know your spouse's UCI and if your secondary VO never sent you an AOR2, take a look at your GCMS notes if you have any. Your spouse's UCI will be listed somewhere on the first or second page.

Also, does anyone know what MyCIC's "open" or "close" statuses mean? Is "open" the same as "in process"? If so, that isn't really going to tell us much. All I want to know is whether or not a visa officer has begun reviewing my wife's file.

so just to answer my own question here, MyCIC's "open" status simply means they've recieved your application. that's no different than the "in process" status we see in ECAS.

isn't there going to be a way to determine whether or not a visa officer has begun reviewing a file? my wife's app has been sitting at London VO for over 5 months and my MP tells me that they haven't even started working on it yet. :(

I guess you can know indirectly by seeing the status of things like, additional document request, interview (if any), medical review, etc.

What will be linked?: Family Sponsorship (excluding applications to become a sponsor). Only PA will be linked but you can use Sponsor's account to link PA application
