Linking MyCIC account to PR application

hey all...

any improvement in being able to link your paper applications? I assume after some of the feedback people are submitting via reporting a technical issue, they might be improving things.

For those of you whose applications are still in process, when you click on "View Submitted Application" do you see anything? Are they scanning and uploading application documents? (I imagine not). I am assuming they will plan to have online PR applications someday (similar to the TRV applications)

Review of eligibility : Review in progress
Review of medical results : passed
Review of submitted documents :Blank
Scheduling an interview : Not needed at this time
A background check is needed : In Progress
Final decision : not started

One huge help is that when a decision is made on your application, instead of getting a message about "information being sent to you regarding the decision" you will see whether or not your application was approved immediately. I think that's a step in the right direction.

We already had the interview, but the CIC online account states "no interview required at this time".
You will see whether or not your application was approved immediately if they update your profile... we do not really know how the system that we use is linked to their own system.

One huge help is that when a decision is made on your application, instead of getting a message about "information being sent to you regarding the decision" you will see whether or not your application was approved immediately. I think that's a step in the right direction.

Can someone please let me know in detail how to link application for Parents sponsorship.
how many family members i have to include only applicant or total family size include sponsor family too.
how to enter city of birth : just city or city +stat.

please help as i was keep trying with no success.

if after trying on your own...report a technical problem with your file and name details in the online form...they might do it for you. I think it worked for me when I couldn't link our file to my account (I was able to link it with my husband's account - he is the applicant)

so how long it will take if i report a technical issue . i think i did it last week but no reply yet.

I agree. We recieved a passport request today and My CIC was only updated to say correspondence was sent. It still shows eligibility in progress and the background check as not started. I don't imagine a passport request was sent to finalize our application if either of those was not completed. If they aren't updating it, My CIC is pretty much useless (other than to see your correspondence but you would have recieved by email anyway) and should not have been rolled out.

Finally after over 40 attempts I was able to link my wife's account. Apparently she lives in the union of Soviet socialist republic not Russia as I thought. Really says a lot about progress at CIC. I hope you just link for fun and do not get too frustrated as it is not even up to date with your gcms notes.
I linked by using family name, birthday. Three applicants to include our son and as I said using ussr instead of Russia. I still had to put in destination.

Some visa offices request passport early in the process but you would likely know if you were dealing with one of them.

That is true of some offices. Unless our visa office has recently completely changed their process that is not the case for ours. And the wording of the letter says to finalize our case and even included info about planning your move to Canada so pretty sure we are at the end. I've read all the various posts about My CIC which shows the info is at the very least very out of date. At this point it is totally unreliable or helpful. Hopefully in the future it will be useful but it isn't there yet.
