Two emails sent. I believe nothing hurts our applications but will raise his attention. Thanks to the person who have started this thread and who composed the great letter!

Andy Warhol once said "they always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself." So to do nothing is the way to be nothing! Let's all start fighting for our future with actions!

Cheers

Dear Minister,

We, applicants of the 2014 Canadian Experience Class program prior to the new Express Entry system, would like you to be aware of a situation that is affecting around 5000 people. Most of us are living in different cities along Canada and struggling to know what our condition in this country is going to be. You will receive the same letter from many applicants in the next days because we all decided to send you this email.

We applied through the Canadian Experience Class stream in 2014, by that time CIC had an estimated processing time of 12 months, now the official processing time has increased to 14 months, but most of the applicants have already been waiting longer. After contacting different MP´s who contacted CIC themselves, we got to know that this time has actually increased to 20 months but is not updated in their web page yet. As per the trends we are afraid the waiting time is going to keep growing indefinitely.

MP´s found out that the reason for this delay is that CIC has almost all their resources working in Express Entry, which has priority over our old system applications. We understand that becoming a Permanent Resident of Canada is a privilege, however we find that discriminating our previous applications in favor of the later Express Entry is unfair to all the applicants and we cannot think in any reason for this other than trying to make look Express Entry as a success.

As you can imagine, this situation is causing a lot uncertainty in the life of many people that has invest so much time and money in pursuing the Permanent Residecy, students and workers that have already been adapted and are contributing to life in Canada. Some have lost their work permits and some had to leave the country and wait in the limbo of not knowing if or when they could be able to come back. Seeing the effects CIC way of handling this situation is causing, we honestly cannot think of Express Entry as a success.

We respectfully request you to do what is in your hand to make CIC work in 2014 Canadian Expericence Class applications with proper resources in order to clear the unfair backlog of applications.

Thank you so much in advance for your understanding and consideration.

It looks good. However, since we are going to send the same letter all together. It is maybe a good idea to change "I" to "we" and add a sentence that we (the applicants) decided to send this letter together (or something like this).
I agree on this. we should all sign this letter electronically if possible.
CIC is not playing the game fairly and they need to be at least professional.
I even doubt they have the right to apply the new policy of ''14 months'' to our old applicants who might decide to apply under CEC simply because of the ''12 months''. At least I would have changed my mind if I knew it would be longer than a year. Yes they can change, but they need to keep their initial promise for the old applicants. Otherwise, next time they could just change it to 20 months to buy some quiet time.

Hi John

First of all congratulations on your new role, I hope you will make a difference to the Canadian Immigration system which needs serious reform. I would like to bring to your attention a situation which you may or may not be aware of and that is the issue of the backlog in the processing of permanent residency applicants under the Canadian Experience Class prior to January 2015. As you know CIC introduced 'Express Entry' in January 2015 supposedly to make the immigration system more transparent and faster. While the express entry system does seem to achieve its goals, PR applications are being processed in some cases in 2-3 months there are many people who applied prior to January 2015 under the old system who are stuck in a backlog that nobody seems to care about .As a result many peoples lives are in limbo, stagnant in careers and relationships. I myself want to build a future in Canada and buy a house but I cannot get a mortgage as I am not a permanent resident

Permanent residency in Canada is no right of mine its is an honour and a privilege but I have been here in Canada 2.5 years , I have paid all my taxes and tried to integrate into Canada society and yet I am not being treated fairly. I am waiting over 13 months on the old CEC system for permanent residency. It is a disgrace we have done nothing wrong but we are being punished. Canada is known to embrace immigrants and treat them fairly and with dignity which is one of the prime reasons I came here. So understand my dismay in being in this situation. We have been completely forgotten about and it is wrong. It seems all the CIC resources have been put into Express Entry and I and my fellow applicants are stuck

I am asking you as a Minister under a Liberal government to be true to your parties word and be a positive change and correct this problem.

I hope I hear from you soon.

Does anyone know some native English speaker and are good at essay .

Because , when I plan to send an email to Minister, but when I think this question in native speak language,

I think there is a problem: a good letter and a normal letter is really different.

I can't feel the English words, although I can understand the general meaning.

when I read above "Dear Minister" I am thinking, should we add name of minister, or should we add Mr or anything, which will get minister attention and read through it, and at last agree with us even a little.

or I want say, what kind of "Dear Minister" will make him thinking of someone is in desperate need of his help .

hegarty147's letter is pretty good, as well as the template posted earlier in this thread. You could perhaps use these and personalize it (i.e. describe the difficulties you are facing due to the delay).

"Dear Minister" would suffice to address him... whatever you draft make it very formal.

I think it is still too long, as a minister, his time scheduling would be very tight, i hope a letter can be understand and finish read in about 3-4 sentences.

Mr. Justin Trudeau has posted in FB "Minister Mr. John McCallum has announced that a new cabinet will be the driving force in helping sponsor 25,000 refugees from the crisis in Syria. We remain committed to this goal."
What about CIC's commitment of processing CEC applications?
Seems like Politicians are same in all the countries!!!
