Letters from London?

Hi all,

Can anyone confirm if the consulate in London issues acknowledgement letters when they receive and begin processing the application for permanent residency?

All we can see on ECAS is that the sponsorship application was approved (and we received a letter notifying of this), while the permenent residency is "In Process", and has been since the 20th of May. We're just wondering what's happening, what's going to happen next and in what kind of timeframe.

Thanks!
Tara

London often does not send out an AOR letter. If you can see "In Process" on the permanent residency application, then they have obviously received your application and are working on it. You probably won't hear from them for a couple of months, unless they actually need some additional info from you.

Tara there are many couples here and listed in trackitt.com that are going out of London. They are a pretty fast visa office. You can go to trackitt and get an idea of when people are being requested for passports.
Best of luck to you..
They don't send out correspondence until they need something from you as mitamata has said.. this is normal for the faster processing offices.

We went through the London office and didn't receive anything until they sent out the passport request. London took about 6 months to send our PPR letter, but Trackitt showed some London apps being processed in as little 2-3 months. In our case it was a long time to wait without hearing anything, but it turned out there was nothing wrong with our application. London have been processing yours for 10 days so far...my advice is to relax and wait. Not hearing anything for a while won't necessarily mean anything is wrong.

Hi......I am going through London. Ecas was updated in March as 'in process' and I have not received a letter or had any further updates. 12 weeks are up today....not that I am counting!

Hi all,

Thanks for those responses- I guess we'll just sit back and try to relax about the whole thing!

Cheers,
Tara
