You need to notarized letters. I also have 8 other letters that are not notarized but show support.

I told them...

1. Introduce yourself. I am a friend of.....
2. When you met
3. Activities you have done together.
4. That they are 100% sure that you are a genuine, ongoing couple.

Encourage them to put it in their own words.

All mine are completely random. Some are short and to the point while others seem to ramble on and on about seemingly non-relevant information but they also state the important facts. All are typed but I even have 1 handwritten letter from an older friend who doesn't know much about computers.

To me, I appreciate the variety in the messages and writing styles as it show they have written them by themselves. My only coaching is telling them the key points on what to say and not editing them even if parts are irrelevant.

I have my parents writing me letters in support also, although they have never met my partner I figure it's good to have their support. My father photocopies his drivers license with his letter to further prove it was written by him.

Hope that helps!

then your letters do not have to be notarized but if you can get them that would be good but just letters if u wish to include as its not required in marrried applications but it makes for good proofs are fine

good luck

hi essex0227- I included a letter from an old friend of mine stating how long she's known me for, when she met my now-husband and that she was there at our wedding and reception. She provided her contact phone number and email address and included a copy of the photo page of her passport to further prove her identity

I included a letter from my wife (sponsor) saying she's returning to Canada (we were in the US when we submitted the application) to attend school, a letter from her mother saying we intend to move to Canada, and a letter from me indicating how we intend to support ourselves. All three letters were short (maybe 3 lines?), printed, and signed. We did not get them notarized.

We were married 12 years when we applied, had 13 while in process.
We included a letter from my mother-in-law and sister-in-law who are in Canada, regarding our relationship, marriage and how much they are wanting us back and how they've missed us. Hubby has been gone 14 years this December so their heartfelt letters probably helped.
