Can I still use my passport with my maiden name even after official name change?

Thanks for the response Pinklady! I thought as much, I just wanted to be extra sure! Wilson- as Pinklady mentioned, I would be able to use my marriage certificate to change my driver's license or health card and once that's done I can use those to change my bank account details, name on bills...

Can I still use my passport with my maiden name even after official name change?

Hey all, So my husband got his visa and will be flying into Toronto in February. After he lands, I intend to change my last name, i.e. legally remove my last name and use his last name. When it comes to my driver's license and health card, this should be pretty easy and as I understand it, there...

    Getting Married

I'm not sure about using just the paperwork. From what I remember, the paperwork given at the ceremony only had some details on it. However, things like witness signatures were only present on the original marriage certificate requested through Service Ontario. In my case, I wanted the witness...

    Getting Married

super11, it's pretty straight forward getting a license. I live in Toronto, so my husband and I went down to city hall to get a marriage license which cost CAD140. We needed to bring in some sort of photo ID when we got the license. In Ontario, a license is valid for 3 months from the date of...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

hey vic.aj- I'm not really sure what the turnaround time is in terms of posting in a passport. My husband delivered his passport to the embassy in person on Nov 3rd. He only works a 10 minute walk away, so he just went in on his lunch break. He picked it up two weeks later on Nov 17th. Maybe...

    LONDON lost PPR'S...

Mittens, so sorry for the delayed reply. This did update our ecas shortly after we received the letter to decision made. They listed the date of processing the application (in ecas) as Oct 14th. The PPR letter was then dated Oct 17th.

Hey mittens - sorry to hear you still are waiting for ppr. My husband received his PPR via snail mail. I definitely agree with getting your Canadian MP involved- it certainly can't hurt. Hope you hear something soon!

My husband just got his photos taken to get his PR visa and it only cost his 7 pounds for 8 photos!! It sounds like such a good deal I had to share. Apparently the place is a bit tricky to fine (underground Charring Cross station). Anyway, here's the website of the place for anyone looking to...

    Experience With Xenophobia ...

I grew up in Dubai in the UAE and I always get people asking if I am rich and if I had ever been on those ridiculous islands shaped like a palm tree or a map of the world. Presumably all their preconceptions come from a careful marketing campaign (on the part of the UAE) and their idea that...

That's terrible yameen! I agree with the others. Send the police certificate along with the forwarded email and a explanation about the mix up- I know it's past the 60 day period, but they have to understand, especially as it was their fault, not yours.
