Hi guys,

I need some clarification with my immigration to US as a student on J1 Visa. The J1 Visa is a multiple entry visa. My course ended on 23rd June 2008 as per my University's document i.e. DS2019. According to the visa sticker my visa validity was from 1st August 2007 to 23rd of June 2008. Reading about Immigration Visas on various forums I understand that the visa validity dates are for entry purposes only. I went on multiple vacations abroad from US during my one year stay there. Based on those suggestions the sticker meant I could only enter back to US until 23rd June.

Because of change in ticket at the last moment I left US on 25th of June.

There are no exit stamps on exit from US or UK. I am not sure if it's going to be considered as a 2 Day overstay OR I am completely fine with it.

Most overstay related articles are for people who have overstayed by months or years. For 2 days there is not much available.

Should I mention about this within my LOE? Will it be classified as overstay or not? I am still on the fence about how to understand this situation and how to write about it within the LOE!

Please advice.

Regards

I-94 is usually stamped with D/S meaning - duration of studies. All students are given a lee-way of 90 days (for F1) for change of status.
I think you should be fine, just check if there is any grace period for J-1 visa.

So i shoudnt complicate things by mentioning it on LOE, AND rather just mention it within the travel history section along with other travels.

I thought it was 60 days grace period for F1 unless they came out with some new regulations.
