Letter of explanation and ties to home country for Spouse visitor visa

Hello, I have applied for my wife's spousal sponsorship outland 1/13 submission date. I intend to apply for her TRV as well so that I can spend some time with her. My spouse is currently working in India and has an approved leave letter. She has also has UK and EU travel and study history.

In June she applied along with her parents for her visitor visa as a group and it was rejected. We took the gcms notes and the reason for refusal was not enough ties and inconsistent reason for visiting Canada (Reason was to visit a friend but the agent applied via IRCC portal and also mentioned that my then fiancée would be visiting a university) and finances (consultant only showed CAD 3000 for a two week trip for a family of 3).

We hired a RCIC in September and she advised us to apply again after her spousal application has been submitted.

1. Can you please tell me what documents and ties would I need to show so that her application is successful this time ?
2. How do I explain the previous visa refusal ?
3. She only has CAD 10,000 in her checking account, is this enough for a 3 week trip?
4. How do I demonstrate dual intent, without jeopardizing her chances of visitor visa approval?
5. What are the current timeline when submitted via the IRCC portal, I am seeing some folks getting an approval in 2 weeks?
6. How much finances does she need to show for her trip?
7. Do I need to write her a letter of sponsorship?

Your agent really goofed up. Please add a priper letter of explanation stating the previous refusal and what remedy you have done for the refusal reasons.

Broadly, focus on your cover letter, financial standing and purpose of travel.

Is it okay for me to sponsor her (she will be staying with me).

The biggest issue will be concerns that she is not a true visitor and that she intends to remain in Canada. The fact that you have only recently submitted sponsorship application and don’t even have AOR could add to concerns that she intends to come to Canada and apply for an inland application. The previous application indicating her family wanted to visit a friend and a university raises doubt of her true intentions because now you are changing it to visiting her spouse. Your best chance is providing as much proof that she has strong ties to her home country and stronger ties to her home country than to Canada which will be incredibly difficult. The fact that her savings has changed so drastically could also be an issue so I would try to provide proof that she has saved the 10k and that the previous savings submission was incorrect. Unfortunately there are no guarantees that she will be granted a TRV. Many spouses are not and have to wait until they get their PR before coming to Canada that is one of the downsides to marrying someone without status in Canada who lives abroad. All you can do is try.

She had over CAD 20,000 in her bank account, but the agent showed only CAD 3000 for her application last time in the application form. She will be applying under the family reunification class. This time the reason for her trip will be spend time with me. The trip will be sponsored by me and her. She has the following travel history:

My name is xxx and I am writing this application to request you for a visitor visa to Canada. I work as an Analyst with xxx.

I have been approved for my leave from April 15 2022 through May 9 2002. I am very keen to spend this time visiting my husband xxx residing in Toronto. xxx is a permanent resident of Canada and I will be staying with him at his apartment during my course of vacation. I will be celebrating our anniversary (April 15) and my husband’s birthday (May 8).

I have visited several countries and have extensive travel history. Here are the details of my travel history:

I have applied for permanent residency under family class and my UCI number is xxx. I had earlier applied for my visitor visa with my family in June with application number xxx. Firstly, during my earlier application I had made an error in showing proof of funds. I had mentioned only CAD 3000 in the application form despite possessing over CAD 25,000 as liquid funds in my bank account. My trip will be sponsored by my husband and I (attached bank statements of me (CAD xxx) and my husband (CAD xxx)). Secondly, my reason for visiting was inconsistent in my earlier application. I had mentioned that I wanted to visit a family friend with my parents and also to visit a prospective university. Now, I want to spend quality time with my husband and celebrate our anniversary and his birthday.


I will be applying under the dual intent family reunification class for my visitor visa. However I would need to exit Canada on May 9 as I have to report for work on May 10 2022. I assure you that I will not overstay my temporary resident status as that may jeopardize my permanent residence application.

I hope that this information will sufficiently demonstrate my intentions of travel and allow you to issue the necessary visitor’s visa to me. I undertake to make sure that I do not remain in Canada further than the period allowed for my stay.

Just curious did that worked for you ? Have you got the TRV for your wife ? I am in the same boat.
