Can I apply to renew my work permit with my current employer after I submit my OWP/PR applications? Or should I wait till they make a decision about my OWP? Or just renew my work permit before applying for PR/OWP?

You said you're going to submit your PR/OWP a month before your work permit expires. That should be good enough. But don't leave your employer unless you've got your OWP. You can read and search for it at CIC website or here is the link.http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=254&t=17

I have applied for an open work permit and permanent residence.
What if my current work permit expires?

If you submitted an open work permit application with your permanent residence application, you can keep working after your current work permit expires. However, while the application is being processed, you can work only for the employer on your current work permit. While waiting for the open work permit, you do not have to extend your Live-in Caregiver Program work permit. This condition is known as “implied status.” That is on the website.

What could be the possible reasons? And did the CIC contacted the applicant thru email or mail? And if an application is cancelled can you reapply again?

When I asked the Immigration consultant she told me that FRAUD and Medical can be a possible reason for cancellation of PR.

I know I've read it somewhere here in the forum about a case wherein her application is denied saying that she is not eligible. Now I am trying to find that post but I couldn't get back to it. Does anyone here have read that too? One more thing is Cancelled Application different from Refused/Denied Application? Thanks

Ojay got it..I m from Germany and was born in the democratic republic former communist state. They have two options for Germany. I clicked of course on that one but it didn't work...so I clicked on the other and it did. Weird

validity only.

Yes me too. My pasdport is valid till 2021 and I also got onky 2 years. I take it as a good sign in a sense that by than we'll definitely will have our PR so no need for a new Opw.

I already called CIC thrice and they always say..."still in process"
