Guys,

I tried calling CIC since I submitted my application on May 7th and they are processing May 10th application, but I was unable to talk to anyone.

I just got a machine recorded message saying its still under process, is that normal? Did I press the wrong keys?

Hi
As you call when directed to work permit section you need to press 0 to be put through to an agent
Otherwise it repeats the same info as is on the website!

Ay man, I applied for the PR after receiving CSQ. I submitted my federal application on the 24th of April and got AOR on the 21st of August. Waiting for medical though. Also submitted, my PGWP application on the 11th of May but received on the 12th of May. Still waiting for a response. Submitted my $100 via CSE sept 7 or 8.

Kudos to CIC!!

My employer gave me a deadline today to submit my work permit before this Friday.
If not they are going to go ahead with other candidates. :(

I had applied on June 9th and only god knows when I will get my PGWP.
Thanks CIC for screwing my first job offer...

So hopefully u've made progress on the other project with immigration Canada. I had heard it takes max three months to get ur file number.
Anyway u must have submitted ur medical as well, how much did u pay for it? I naively thought it was included in the application fee but seems have to spend more!

I haven't submitted my medical yet as I haven't been requested for it. I made the application as a dependant prior to my arrival in canada.

The Express Entry is screwing all other online applications over as CIC is putting most of their human capital towards ensuring that the 6 months processing time for PR is met. I remember last year march it was only 16 days for PGWP( I got mine within that time). Now its 4-6 months!

Even paper application is way faster  something I never thought I'd live to witness! We all know we have to wait a long while for a work permit but a little more transparency from CIC would have made the journey less stressful for everyone who is waiting.

Hang in there guys! It won't take longer than 6 months (worst case scenario). 8)

Applied: May 2nd
Paid $100: Aug 18th
Blank Update: July 31, Aug 30th, Sep 29
Current Status: Waiting as of October 7th (day 159)

Contacted call center and the agent informed me that because they spoke with my last week, and already took action by sending a message somewhere to get my application checked out, therefore I need to wait another 3 months before I can do anything more. She advised me to keep checking my status online instead.

Hey, dude

Sorry about that. I really don't believe you can get the work permit before this Friday. However, maybe you can negotiate with your employer. You are in an implied status so you can work and they won't get into any trouble letting you work. The only problem is that they cannot pay you. If you like, you may volunteer to work for free for a couple of month. That is depressing but at least you can hold your job. That is what my friends do. I submitted my application on May 3rd and started working on May 12th. My boss used to pay me by cheque since she thought I was gonna get my PGWP within a month. After five month, it turned out CIC let everybody down. Now she has terminated my salaries and I am working for free awaiting for my work permit. The bright side is at least I hold my job. Hope this help.

Thank you.

Best regards and good luck
