I hope all of this patience pays off. I applied on May 5th and I was asked to submit a receipt payment for the $100 OWP fee on August 20th.

I haven't received any updates since then.. 4 months of processing time is ridiculous.

CIC is totally unpredictable, yesterday many of June applicants got approval. You might get your approval next week or might be it take 4-5 weeks.One thing is good that CIC is now picking up the pace. Also TRV takes around 19 days+ 2-5 days mailing time.....you can certainly do the math here as TRV will take 20-25 days so you can wait a couple of weeks for work permit if you don't get it , you might have change your travel plans

Hi everyone!
this is to update my situation!
I finally received the approval of my PGWP on 3rd Sep, 2015.

Application submitted: 22nd May, 2015
Approval: 3rd Sep, 2015

I really want to travel to N.Y.
Will it be no problem when I return to Canada from U.S since I received my PGWP?
I wanna spend time with my parents in N.Y and come back together to Canada with no problem!
If any advice, please let me know :}

I got in! Seriously, keep trying! Once she finishes the initial french statement and speaks the next one, type the numbers 3, 2 and 0. This should take you straight to the agent for foreign workers. Its a lot faster than waiting for her to say the whole thing.

a) Online Payment at: https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do?lang=en. Once you are there follow the instructions below:
Click continue below > Accept disclaimer > Immigration > Temporary residence > Open work permit holder fee > type 1 for number of applications.

b) Case Specific Enquiry (CSE) at: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx?_ga=1.63908399.108801500.1431902909
Use this online form to upload the PDF receipt you received. First fill in your UCI, address, phone etc. Scan and upload it to the CSE. Also, type a short precise message (in the message box) indicating your reasons. In that message don't forget to include
your online Application Number that begins with a W.

5. Once you've received your PGWP, please remember to visit the forum again and update us. Also, make sure that you renew your SIN by visiting your nearest Service Canada office at: http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/cgi-bin/sc-srch.cgi?app=hme&ln=eng

6. ** New TRV for those who want to travel after receiving their PGWP. Processing fee is $100 (the required docs for application include; passport copy, face/head photograph, IMM5257E form, and a copy of your PGWP). Please be aware that your PGWP doesn't give you the right to return to Canada. You need a new TRV that you apply for as a worker NOT as a student. 7. Unless its a family emergency, please make your travel plans carefully and wisely.

8. If you've been refused a PGWP and have lost status, please learn more about restoration of your status at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/visa/validity/restoration.asp and apply for both restoration of status and PGWP simultaneously.

Thanks, that worked. They told me that their system shows my submission date as 6th May so will have to wait more.

Once it is approved the pgwp we can travel outside Canada or we need something else to reentry???
