CIC
Last update as of today was July 31, 2015
CIC is currently processing applications submitted on April 9, 2015
Official processing time as of today is 112 days for WP.
**New TRV (Inland) processing time for online applicants is 19 days.

PLEASE NOTE:
1. Any PGWP applicants who visit this amazing forum and don't have their timeline profiles recorded on here should endeavour to provide their details truthfully. It helps everyone to keep track of things. If you want to be sure of your day counts please visit this site at http://www.timeanddate.com/date/duration.html. Be sure to select “Include end date in calculation.” The above individual timelines have been sorted according to date of application.

2. If for whatever reason you email or call CIC, please feel free to share your findings in the forum.

3. If your individual processing time/day count exceeds the current CIC processing time of WP, please take the initiative to seek help from your Member of Parliament (MP) within your constituency (or residential area). Gather all evidence including your application number and let your MP know about your situation. To find your MP, use your current postal code via Parliament of Canada at: http://www.parl.gc.ca/Parlinfo/Compilations/HouseOfCommons/MemberByPostalCode.aspx?Menu=HOC.

4. If you paid only $155 and never paid the extra $100 for all OWP holders, please visit these two sites to pay the remaining balance:
a) Online Payment at: https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do?lang=en. Once you are there follow the instructions below:
Click continue below > Accept disclaimer > Immigration > Temporary residence > Open work permit holder fee > type 1 for number of
applications.

b) Case Specific Enquiry (CSE) at: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx?_ga=1.63908399.108801500.1431902909
Use this online form to upload the PDF receipt you received. First fill in your UCI, address, phone etc. Scan and upload it to the
CSE. Also, type a short precise message (in the message box) indicating your reasons. In that message don't forget to include
your online Application Number that begins with a W.

5. If you receive your PGWP, please remember to visit the forum again and update us. Also, make sure that you renew your SIN by visiting your nearest Service Canada office at: http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/cgi-bin/sc-srch.cgi?app=hme&ln=eng

** New TRV for those who want to travel after receiving their PGWP. Processing fee is $100 (the required docs for application include; passport copy, face/head photograph, IMM5257E form, and a copy of your PGWP). Please be aware that your PGWP doesn't give you the right to return to Canada. You need a new TRV that you apply for as a worker NOT as a student. To get more information on applying for a new TRV from WITHIN Canada, please go to: https://www.google.com/search?q=apply+for+new+TRV+within+Canada&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=Apply+for+new+TRV+from+within+Canada

Congratulations to all members that have received their PGWP. Good luck on your job search.

It is a waiting game. As always keep the faith and stay positive.

Cheers! :D

Hello everyone,

I am going to apply for my PGWP two weeks later. Have to say this is an amazing forum and I'd like to join you guys!
Just have a question about the stamps on passport. from the application document checklist:

"Photocopies of passport pages clearly showing the passport number, the dates of issue and expiry, name and date of birth, the stamp made by the Canadian authorities on my most recent entry into Canada and any other marked pages"

two things:

1. I have my study permit attached to my passport before. Unfortunately, one of the stamps on my passport is marked on the back of my study permit and this original study permit has been sent to CIC for applying an extension, so I cannot show this single stamp on my upload pdf...does this matter?
2. I have been back my home country for a month during a study-term for family issue and the stamps showing the entry record, I am really worried that CIC will consider me hasn't finished my education theoretically even I got the graduate confirmation letter from school and my mark is not bad, is that possible?

Do I need to explain for the above situation in the LETTER OF EXPLANATION document ? is that gonna make it worse ?
Really need your guys advice :)

Cheers :)

JohnnyJames,

1. If you sent your origin SP, it basically means you sent your physical passport to CIC. So, I don't believe you did that. A SP is a counterfoil laminated in your passport. If you did so, then I believe it was a mistake. When applying for extensions of anything, you are normally required to provide scanned photocopies in a format such as PDF. If you have your passport with you and everything in it that is asked of you, simply scan the pages with your personal information and the pages with the TRV stamps. Save them in one PDF file.

2. CIC isn't concerned with anyone's grades. But rather, CIC is interested in providing you a PGWP with the duration you deserve based on the required documents that you've provided. Let your required documents speak for you. Explanation letters are optional not required. Beware that sometimes applicants provide explanation letters that either make things easier or in most cases make matters complicated because they mentioned something that triggered suspicion. In other words, please avoid delving into things no CIC agent needs to know unless you are 100% sure that it will benefit you. Good luck.

Cheers!

Thank you jubear, but I think you get the first question wrong. please search "Request to Amend the Record of Landing, Confirmation of Permanent Residence or Valid Temporary Resident Documents" and open the document checklist in the CIC website.
it did ask for ORIGINAL STUDY PERMIT and all my schoolmates did this. I didn't send my passport to them, I just detached my study permit paper from my passport and send it to CIC, I still have my passport.
The thing that I worried is that I have one stamp marked on my original study permit paper so it cannot be included in my PGWP application. I just want to know if this matters....

Thanks for the explanation on second question, that make sense. I am just afraid of my PGWP will be denied because of that...the duration really doesn't matter. My program is two years program and I left for 1 month. hopefully they won't reject me because of this...

Well, you didn't provide all the information. Its better to provide all info so that members on this forum can understand your situation and help you. I'm aware of document amendments and the requirement to send an original document back to CIC so they can amend errors. In this case, provide your most recent stamp.

Cheers!

Hi, I checked my passport for the stamps again I have noticed that my most recent stamp only shows the entry record of Canadian side, the entry record of my home country's side is missing, Then I realized that I was passing an automatically checking gate at the customs of my home country, so there was no person stamp my passport at the customs...

wondering does CIC has all the entry record of applicant so they can check if any stamp is missing on the application? and also, why they need these stamps...I was back to my home country for Christmas holiday each year and this really makes me nervous, just worry about if this could make me rejected, is there any former case similar to mine that is approved or rejected?

Hello everyone,

Please I need an urgent reply..
My TRV just expired and my SP is still valid, I want to do a flagpolling at the boarder. I applied for my PGWP since first week in May and up till today I haven't received nor heard from CIC.

Back to my question, will I be allowed to come back into Canada at the boarder and will I be granted a PGWP being that my TRV is expired?
Please I need an urgent reply. Thanks.

Barbs00,

1. You don't need a valid TRV. However, you need a valid SP and among other requirements you must apply for a work permit within 90 days of receiving written confirmation that you have met the requirements of your academic program.
2. You will be allowed back into Canada.

For further info and to learn more from other members' experiences, take the time to read from page 15 and onwards of this forum.
Good luck.

Cheers!
