Thanks a lot for listing borders out. And its good you are trying to help others out. I also knew borders as I live near one.

I was just curious, but not that curious.
Thanks again though.
Mentioning the border I went to doesn't really matter. We've seen people who have used the same border as others but didn't get the WP or got less years on theirs.

What matters is how you are going to present yourself, your legit documents, the personality of the CBSA officer that is going to process your application, his/her mood, the time you arrive there, and how you answer the questions posed to you.

BC is well known for FPs, so its up to you really to decide which border you want.

Good luck.

Cheers!

Just a quick update:

Still no news. (Applied March, 23) Called them and agent told me that he'll send an email to processing but does not know if that really speeds things up. He said it is better not to call back about the same application for at least 10 days including the weekend.

Big thanks for your updated information. As a quick update, I applied on March 19th, still no updates. How could they ignore us again and again. My sp and sin was expired on March 31 and I didn't know the flag poiling thing at that time. I tried to contact them several times, phone calls, emails, online enquirys, no reply, no update. The call center sent the processing center one email on June 22?( The first date the change that they had processed case submitted by March 20, which means my case was overdue). I contact the call center again last week, since they change that they have already processed the case submitted by March 26th. And they told me 1st, they can do nothing; 2nd, if there was no update after Sept 16th( 90 days after their first email sent) they can sent another email. I was in tears and so stressful for the last weekend. I am not asking for sympathy, but there is nothing worse than my case right? By written such long paragrph I just want to share some infos with your guys, call center can do nothing, online enquiry do nothing. We have no means to have a direct contact with them. They will process your case whennever they want, to me, there is no previlage of submitting earlier, some guys I know they get their PSGW within one month(not the flag poiling thing)

What's up with people not getting their WP even after 108 days when the processing time is 98 days?

That's ridiculous.

Or in 115 days like my case. With no contact from CIC whatsoever. I really have a trouble explaining my HR why is it written that they already should have processed my application.

Had to call CIC with her to let her know that the application is real and that CIC have no info on it.

i made a paper based application for extension of my pgwp on 14 April. Initially,it was issued to my passport expiry (18 months instead of 3 years)and had a note which said passport must be renewed for extension.

However I only paid $155 online instead of $255 and included it in my paper based application.

I called the CIC they told me that the officer will just return your application after 3 months of processing just on the basis that it didn't have $255 payment.
However online applications are getting $100 request in their CIC accounts .Why cant people with paper based applications get a extra $100 request instead of just returning the application after 3 months.
AND If they had to sent the application back why didn't they send it when they checked the paper based application for completeness in April.

I even tried going to the border and extending it

NOTE:if you have a pgwp issued to your passport expiry and still have time on it for renewal .You CANT go the the border to renew it .I learned it the hard way. :(

Malik786,

I'm not sure what kind of assistance you are looking for on this forum. But we understand your frustration. However, when you are faced with such situations you have to ask yourself, "what is the way forward?"

If you haven't seen the online payment system that CIC used at the beginning of February 21, 2015 when they introduced a fee of $100 for all OWP holders (PGWP, SOWP, BOWP, etc..), you can find it here at:
https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do?lang=en. Follow these directions when the site opens:

Click Continue > Accept disclaimer > Click Immigration > Click Temporary residence > Find the Open work permit holder fee row > Type 1 for number of applications > Click Submit

After that, the site will ask you to register in order to pay online.

Once you've paid and a PDF receipt has been generated, print it out and fill in your particulars (name, address, UCI, etc..). Scan it and save it on your computer.

Next, use the Case Specific Enquiry (CSE) online form below to send your scanned receipt. Make sure that in the message box you type a simple clear message to the Visa Officer and include your UCI and Application Number of your paper application (I know for sure that online applicants receive it, but I'm not sure of paper applicants. It begins with a W....).
The importance of including the above two numbers is because it makes it easier for agents to locate your application/file.

If you have questions, members on this forum will try to help.

Cheers!

Hi everyone, I was able to obtain my permit yesterday (July 15, wednesday) at the rainbow bridge. As expected the officer has put the work location as my residential city and my company called CIC and says they think that it is an error and ask me to do an amendment. I know it is how it is to obtain the permit from the CBSA but Is there anything that I could do to convince they company? Thank you

Kayeebun,

Congratulations! It is not expected CBSA or CIC to put your workplace location as your residence. Practically its an error that doesn't matter.

Check under: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION on your PGWP for these particulars below;

Employer: UNKNOWN
Occupation: UNKNOWN

If they look like above its fine and nothing to worry about.

The only errors that CIC amends are under the following:

Family name
Given name(s)
Date of birth
Place of birth
Country of birth
Citizenship
Sex
Marital status
Date or original entry
Date of landing

You may ask yourself, 'but why?' This is because your residential address doesn't matter. A PGWP is an OWP that gives you the freedom to work for anyone (EXCEPT strip clubs, massage parlours, or escort services) and live anywhere in Canada.

Therefore, your employer should not worry about your residential address.

For further information on document amendments, please see the link below:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5218ETOC.asp

I'm happy for you and congratulations.

Cheers!
