Jace,

See page 100 of this forum. You will see a members' list of timelines. Observe and you will notice whats going on or what others have done. Always try to read through the forum's different pages for some answers. It helps to know you are not alone and it gives you a clue on what others have done. In the end its your choice and responsibility to pay $100 now or wait for CIC to ask for it. Good luck.

Cheers!

Jubear,

I got many useful information. Thanks a lot.

I was asked to pay the extra $100 today. I applied on April 27th and my application passed the process time a month ago. My Mp was in contact with CIC and called them yesterday. I got the request for paying the additional fee today morning.

Hello everyone, I'm new on this forum....

This is my situation, i applied for PGWP on May 2nd and i still waiting for approval. i have a visa and study permit valid until 2016 also a TRV for multiple entries valid until 2017. I finished my program on April 2nd and start working on May 4th.

My questions are:

1- I'm going to Venezuela this friday (Oct 16th) for two weeks, on my way back, if at that time i don't have any replay, should i request the PGWP to the CBSA?
2- If i get the approval before come back (Nov 1st) will i be ok to enter to Canada with my student or visitor visa?
3- My wife is coming with me, does she qualify to get a work permit by CBSA?

If the answer for questions 1 and 3 is YES, which documents should i have with me?

Below my timeline.

Applied: May 2nd
Paid $100: August 18th (Online)
Blank Update: Monthly
PGWP Approval: Still waiting
Mail Delivery: Still waiting
Total Processing Time: Still waiting

Thanks so much in advance for your cooperation.

Guille, I called CIC and they told me that while we are waiting for PGWP and since we have valid study permit we can travel outside and come back to Canada, bring the study permit with you.

Btw,I would like to have an answer to question 1 too!!!

Salud!

Hello friends,

A friend just payed his $255 online but the receipt we printed has no provision for the applicant details. It just shows the payment information and the bar code. Any advice on how to proceed? Should we call cic or just put the details on a separate piece of paper and attached to the receipt. Please advice especially if you've encountered a similar problem

Hello Jubear,

I applied for initial PGWP on feb 25, 2015. I got refusal because of additional 100$ thing. I applied for restoration of status and PGWP on June 05, 2015 by mail. I called CIC today and an agent said Your application has been sent for further review which may take up to 22 more weeks. That is freaking me out. I am on Restoration of status so I cant work either. Do u have any Idea how much time they would actually take when they say its been sent for further review. btw my application was sent for further review around mid September.

Thanks

Como estas Guille,

1. The documents you need to apply for a PGWP.
a) Valid SP
b) Confirmation Letter from your DLI stating that you've completed your studies or Official Transcript
c) Passport
d) $255 for you as the principal applicant

2. Once yours has been processed, the CBSA officer will then process your wife's SOWP.
a) Her Valid TRV
b) Marriage certificate (if applicable) or Common-Law Status document signed by a Notary Public (if applicable).
c) Passport
d) $255 for her SOWP

3. Depending on what CBSA Officer you are talking to, other documents you might need are;
a) Health Insurance Card
b) Canada residence address info
c) If you already have a job and it falls under NOC 0, A or B, its imperative that you have;
i) a letter from your current employer confirming employment or a copy of your employment offer or contract.
ii) a copy of one of your payslips.

3(c) is usually asked for in order to process your wife's SOWP. I included it so that you avoid surprises.

For further info, go to: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/students/post-grad.asp. Buena Suerte.

Cheers!

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post on the forum, but I have been following it for a while. The least I could do is share the news and keep the spirits high for those who are waiting. Great work Jubear !

Just wanted to share the good news on my work permit application. I applied on May 17th and got it approved today. Also, I joined work yesterday and so far they haven't asked for any additional documents. I gave my SIN number last month (it was still expired then) while I signed the offer and also told them that I am eligible to work and I have applied for a temporary work permit extension. Although I went through this thread so many times to consider other options if they didn't approve of my implied status, I haven't faced any problem so far.

I also checked with Service Canada centre last friday to see if I can start work without a SIN they handed out a hard copy of information for employers, gave me the CIC number and told me to ask the employers to call the CIC number with their business SIN and validate our SIN to check whether we can work or not directly from CIC folks. Might be useful for some of you folks. Probably employers have other options to validate our SIN, please do give a shot to that for those who are facing problems with SIN.

Applied: May 17th
Blank Update: 2
100$ payment through CSE : June 12th
OWP Receipt confirmation : June 29th
PGWP Approval: October 14th

Cheers !

BPOSITIVE786,

I have no idea how long that takes. Most people who call are sometimes told that same thing. So I personally see it as a way for buying themselves time. Just remain patient. If not, then contact your MP.

Cheers!

Hello Jubear, Any ideas on our online payment receipt? The is no place to put the client information. Just a barcode and the payment information. Should we write the client information on a different paper and attached or call cic? I haven't seen any colleague here raise that issue. please help.
