You know, this letter is not official but it has my name, my UCI, permit #, my date of birth, expired date and my address on it. CAN I USE THIS LETTER TO REPLACE TEMPORARILY FOR THE PGWP? I also create a new profile on my CIC account for renewing visa and the system requires me to upload the work permit, which is the only document I don't have now.

First of all, what is your country of origin? Find out here at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp to see if you are visa exempt.
Secondly, you can ask to return to Canada on your original TRV, even if it is expired. However, that is only if you are visiting the USA or St. Pierre and Miquelon. To be on a safe side also make an original printout of your PDF, PGWP approval letter before you leave for USA.

I have work permit and student visa ( it should be work visa for future travel). It's not a perfect combination now but I have no time for doing any further action now. I calculate that sending application to CPP Ottawa and receive my new visa within 2 weeks but I forgot calculate mailing delivery time. SO this option doesn't work anymore
As you said above, the documents I need to re-enter Canada is my printout approval letter + student visa for travelling to the US (only the US and S. Pierre and Miquelon). Actually, I worry about my student visa does not match with work permit. On the other hand, the approval letter states as "this letter is not valid for travel and is not a permit allowing you to remain in Canada"

Hi everyone,
Finally my work permit got approved on October 8th. It showed 'Approved' only on the home page but when I checked the status, it was still 'Open'.
So I called CIC next day morning (Oct. 9) and they confirmed that my work permit was approved (after 122 days of struggle and stress).
As I told before Oct. 9 was the deadline given by my employer to submit the work permit. Fortunately my PGWP got approved on the last day and when I advised my employer about that, they were happy and sent me the offer letter immediately.
Yes guys. Sometimes things fall into place right at the last moment. Somehow I was blessed by CIC with my PGWP and I didn't lose my job.
Hope everyone gets their work permit soon and a good job too.

5. If you paid only $155 and never paid the extra $100 for all OWP holders, please visit these two sites to pay and upload the remaining balance (receipt):
a) Online Payment at: https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do?lang=en. Once you are there follow the instructions below:
Click continue below > Accept disclaimer > Immigration > Temporary residence > Open work permit holder fee > type 1 for number of
applications > Submit > Pay. You will be asked to register on the online payment system in case you are not.
b) Case Specific Enquiry (CSE) at: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx?_ga=1.63908399.108801500.1431902909
Use this online form to upload the PDF receipt you received. First fill in your UCI, address, phone etc. Scan and upload it to the CSE.
Also, type a short precise message (in the message box) indicating your reasons. In that message don't forget to include your online
Application Number that begins with a W.
6. ** New TRV for those who want to travel after receiving their PGWP. Processing fee is $100 (the required docs for application include; passport copy, face/head photograph, IMM5257E form, and a copy of your PGWP). Please be aware that your PGWP doesn't give you the right to return to Canada. You need a new TRV that you apply for as a worker NOT as a student. 5. If you paid only $155 and never paid the extra $100 for all OWP holders, please visit these two sites to pay and upload the remaining balance (receipt):
a) Online Payment at: https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do?lang=en. Once you are there follow the instructions below:
Click continue below > Accept disclaimer > Immigration > Temporary residence > Open work permit holder fee > type 1 for number of
applications > Submit > Pay. You will be asked to register on the online payment system in case you are not.
b) Case Specific Enquiry (CSE) at: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx?_ga=1.63908399.108801500.1431902909
Use this online form to upload the PDF receipt you received. First fill in your UCI, address, phone etc. Scan and upload it to the CSE.
Also, type a short precise message (in the message box) indicating your reasons. In that message don't forget to include your online
Application Number that begins with a W.
6. ** New TRV for those who want to travel after receiving their PGWP. Processing fee is $100 (the required docs for application include; passport copy, face/head photograph, IMM5257E form, and a copy of your PGWP). Please be aware that your PGWP doesn't give you the right to return to Canada. You need a new TRV that you apply for as a worker NOT as a student. 7. Unless its a family emergency, please make your travel plans carefully and wisely.
8. If you've been refused a PGWP and have lost status, please learn more about restoration of your status at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/visa/validity/restoration.asp and apply for both restoration of status and PGWP simultaneously.
